Hospital at Home PRN EMT-B
Job Description
Essential Job Function
- Assists with clinical procedures, including monitoring blood glucose, recording vital signs, obtaining EKG's, applying restraints, and attending to elimination needs to provide comfortable care for patients.
- Communicates with other Emergency Medical Technicians, hospital staff, and patients to deliver timely care information.
- Assists with patient care through monitoring and assessing symptoms and data.
- De-escalates high pressure or conflict scenarios in order to collaborate effectively with team members and ensure patient safety.
- Builds knowledge base and skills through trainings and continuing education in order to strengthen skills in providing care.
- Helps to maintain unit inventories of supplies and medical equipment in order to ensure a clean and safe environment in adherence to the National Patient Safety Goals.
- Collects high-quality blood specimens to ensure reliable diagnostic results and support prompt patient care for Hospital at Home positionsPerforms other duties as assigned.
Education
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalentSuccessful Completion of Cone Health?s Phlebotomy Orientation/Training Class within 3 months of hire for Hospital at Home positions
Experience
- Required: 2 years of related experience
Licensure/Certification/Listing
- Required:North Carolina Emergency Medical Technician certification BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider Valid Driver's License (if driving a Cone Health vehicle, must have 5 years of driving experience and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) must be approved by Risk Management)
