Overview
The Service Agent – Irrigation Outreach conducts residential and commercial irrigation assessments and make recommendations to the customer for optimal watering efficiency.
Essential Functions
1 Responds to customer inquiries for irrigation evaluations and schedules appointments
2 Performs water irrigation evaluations and audits for residential and commercial properties.
3 Makes recommendations for irrigation systems regarding programming and efficiency.
4 Research customer trends, evaluates program effectiveness, and makes recommendations for process improvements.
5 Maintains database containing all evaluations and customer information.
6 Assists customers with high bill concerns and performs high bill evaluations.
7 Delivers water conservation program presentations to large groups and addresses questions and concerns.
8 Performs adjustments to the program, in alignment with the watering schedule determined by the Water Conservation rules.
9 Performs any and all other work as needed or assigned.
Knowledge and Skills
1 Knowledge of municipal, state, and federal regulations.
2 Knowledge of city mandates, including protocols, policies, and procedures.
3 Ability to provide excellent customer service.
4 Ability to determine code violations.
5 Ability to interpret, educate, and make recommendations to correct maintenance issues,
6 Ability to investigate, collect and analyze information for accuracy, consistency, and conformance to established policy.
7 Ability to determine concerns and service requests and identify courses of action.
8 Ability to interpret ordinances, codes, and departmental policy.
9 Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
10 Ability to interact tactfully with employees and the public.
11 Ability to coordinate the work of others.
12 Ability to prepare clear and concise reports.
13 Ability to use MS Office or similar software
14 Establishing and maintaining effective professional relationships.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
- High School diploma or GED
EXPERIENCE:
- Three (3) years of experience in customer service, automatic irrigation design, installing, and repair; or in inspecting and adjusting sprinkler controllers, set and operate the clocks as necessary.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
- MUST be able to obtain a Landscape Irrigator’s License from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) within the first six months of employment.
Salary Range
The salary listed on this job posting is the starting salary range; amount offered will depend upon qualifications.
