POSITION SUMMARY
The Fleet Manager provides leadership, oversight, and continuous improvement of SES fleet operations, ensuring the safe, compliant, and cost-effective management of company vehicles, heavy equipment, trailers, and specialized industrial service assets. This position is responsible for maximizing fleet utilization, reliability, and lifecycle value while supporting operational objectives, customer commitments, and company growth initiatives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement fleet management strategies that maximize asset utilization, equipment availability, and operational efficiency.
- Manage the lifecycle of fleet assets including vacuum trucks, hydro excavation units, tankers, roll-off trucks, trailers, heavy equipment, pickups, and support vehicles.
- Oversee preventive maintenance programs and repair activities to ensure fleet reliability and minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, EPA, and applicable regulations.
- Develop and manage fleet operating budgets, maintenance budgets, and capital replacement plans.
- Monitor fleet performance metrics, maintenance costs, fuel consumption, and utilization trends.
- Lead maintenance personnel, fleet coordinators, and external service providers.
- Provide fleet performance reports and recommendations to executive leadership.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required
- Minimum 5 years of fleet management, transportation management, maintenance leadership, or related industry experience.
- Knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and fleet compliance regulations.
- Experience managing medium- and heavy-duty vehicle fleets.
- Experience implementing maintenance programs using data analysis and performance metrics.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
Preferred
- Experience managing vacuum trucks, hydro excavation equipment, tankers, roll-off trucks, and specialized industrial service equipment.
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Experience with telematics systems and fleet management software.
