ASMO is a groundbreaking joint venture between DHL and Saudi Aramco. Inheriting DHL’s logistics excellence and Saudi Aramco’s extensive supply chain ecosystem, we are here to set a new benchmark and redefine the procurement and supply chain landscape, enabling growth.
ASMO aims to be operational in 2025 and provide reliable end-to-end integrated procurement and supply chain services for companies across the industrial, energy, chemical, and petrochemical sectors. Our focus customers in the short term will be Saudi Aramco and its Affiliates. In the long term, all the industrial sectors within Saudi Arabia aim to reach the MENA region.
Objective:
The Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the ASMO site. The role holder is responsible for overseeing various operational functions, including production, maintenance, inventory management, and logistics, to achieve operational excellence.
General Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development and execution of the Department short to mid-term strategic plan to ensure alignment with the Department’s strategic priorities, and the corporate goals.
- Contribute to the development of annual business plans for the assigned areas of responsibility to support the achievement of financial and strategic objectives.
- Monitor, control and report key performance indicators related to the Department to track performance and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure the smooth execution of inbound and outbound processes, production activities, quality inspections, and transport operations.
- Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production output, quality metrics, delivery performance, and other relevant metrics.
- Identify areas for improvement and take corrective actions to align operations with ASMO’s overall strategies and objectives.
- Continuously assess and improve operational processes to enhance productivity, reduce operational costs, and optimize resource utilization.
- Implement best practices and efficiency measures to drive process improvements.
- Manage and allocate resources effectively, including labour, equipment, and materials, to meet production and operational goals.
- Ensure that staffing levels are appropriate to meet demand while controlling labour costs.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Develop and enforce safety protocols and practices to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
- Collaborate closely with other departments, including maintenance, inventory management, and logistics, to ensure seamless coordination and alignment of operational activities.
- Provide leadership and guidance to supervisors, coordinators, inspectors, and clerks, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Prepare regular reports on operational performance, highlighting achievements, challenges and improvement opportunities.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior management as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, or equivalent, from a recognized and accredited university is required.
- Master’s degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, or equivalent from a recognized and accredited university is preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written English.
- 11 years’ experience in similar or related field, out of which 5 years at a managerial / leading position.
- Proven experience in operations management, with a strong understanding of production, logistics, and quality control.
