What We Want

The Research Associate will conduct a scoping review of navigation models and Harris County referral and Information and Communication Technology systems, benchmark comparable systems in other states, and synthesize best practices to guide the initiative’s design and implementation. Also, the person will develop and recruit list of numerous agencies (government and nonprofit actors) to participate in expert interviews and survey research. Further, the individual will write reports, attend meeting, and share best practices with Health and Human Service Commission.

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Two years of related professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Public Service and Administration.

  • Research experience within Public Service and Administration.

  • Experience in human subjects’ research.

  • CITI training in social and behavioral research.

  • Ability to utilize MS Office.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with appropriate laboratory and/or technical equipment.

  • Ability to effectively utilize a computer and applicable software.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

  • Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Conduct scoping review

  • Conduct research, review governmental reports, and write reports on navigation models and referral systems.

Attend meeting and share best practices

  • Participate in meeting with HHSC. Share and translate research knowledge into actionable steps for the agency.

Develop and recruit for evaluation project

  • Create a list of public and nonprofits experts for participation in upcoming evaluation project with Health and Human Service Commission.

Writing research

  • Use findings from scoping review to write and develop papers for academic outlets.
