Job Description
About the Position
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and coordinate civil engineering design for military fueling facilities, including aircraft fueling stations, bulk storage tanks, and fuel distribution systems
Develop site plans, grading, drainage, and utility layouts in compliance with DoD standards
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical (fueling), electrical, fire protection, and environmental engineers
Prepare construction documents, technical specifications, and engineering reports
Support environmental permitting efforts (SPCC, NPDES, stormwater)
Ensure compliance with UFC, and other applicable DoD criteria
Interface with clients, including NAVFAC, USACE, AFCEC, and other federal agencies
Conduct site visits and field investigations as needed
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (required); Master’s degree a plus
10+ years of relevant experience in site/civil design, including at least 3+ years supporting military fueling or energy-related projects
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in any U.S. state (required)
Deep understanding of UFC 3-460-01, UFC 3-201-01, and UFC 3-600-01
Experience designing systems such as:
Jet-A, JP-8, AVGAS, diesel fuel storage & transfer
Defueling and refueling skids
Spill containment and oil-water separators
Fuel truck access roads and heavy-duty paving
Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Office, and stormwater design tools
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Prior experience working with NAVFAC, USACE, or AFCEC
Familiarity with SpecsIntact, some knowledge of DD1391 process, and federal proposal development (SF330)
Understanding of airfield safety and AOA design constraints
Experience coordinating with energy resilience programs and backup generation systems
OSHA 30-hour training and/or active DoD security clearance a plus
