Field Service Engineer (Tokyo / Nagoya)

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Technical Service professional based in Tokyo or Nagoya to manage installation, repair preventive maintenance, and customer training within the assigned area. You also supports dealer service teams and collaborates closely with the sales team to ensure proper site preparation for installations. The role focuses on delivering high-quality service, improving operational efficiency, and enhancing overall customer satisfaction.

What You Will Do

• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance for STERIS product lines according to the technical requirements, such as schematics, diagrams, technical manuals and etc., which includes disassembling, replacing or repairing defective parts, rewiring or reassembling, troubleshooting, adjusting/calibrating by using standard and specialized tools according to the manuals, and completing device performance test to make sure the equipment ready for use.).

STERIS製品ラインについて、回路図、図面、技術マニュアルなどの技術要件に従い、予防保守および是正保守を実施する。これには、マニュアルに基づき標準工具および専用工具を使用して、欠陥部品の分解、交換、修理、配線作業、再組み立て、トラブルシューティング、調整・校正を行うほか、機器が使用可能な状態であることを確認するための性能試験を完了することが含まれる。

• Coordinate & oversee dealer’s service maintenance program. Guide dealers to support customers the installations.

ディーラーのサービス・メンテナンスプログラムを調整・監督する。ディーラーに対し、顧客への設置サポートを行うよう指導する。

• Improve technical support for service dealers and customers by implementing and improving service process in maintenance, service calls, warranty calls, on site field upgrade programs and etc.

メンテナンス、サービス対応、保証対応、オンサイト・フィールド・アップグレード・プログラムなどにおけるサービスプロセスの導入および改善を通じて、サービスディーラーおよびお客様への技術サポートを強化する。

• Comply with STERIS procedures and regulations of maintenance management and logs, tools management and parts inventory.

メンテナンス管理および記録、工具管理、部品在庫に関するSTERISの手順および規定を遵守する。

• Maintain a good working relationship with the Service Team and Sales Team. Provide the information to obtain sales opportunities timely.

サービスチームおよび営業チームと良好な協力関係を築く。販売機会を獲得するために必要な情報を適時提供する。

• Keep effective communication with customers, managers supporting functions, the internal sales and dealers. Utilize current products and service skills to ensure the service quality exceeds customers’ expectations. Actively seek continuing education opportunities to reinforce and support STERIS overall Sales & Service strategies.

• Communicate technical problems and resolve complaints from customer or dealers. Assist sales and dealers in response to customer’s s questions regarding to equipment operation and performance. Provide on-site support to the sales and dealers, limited in installation and operation environment and requirements and other on-site technical service when necessary. 

技術的な問題について報告し、顧客や販売店からの苦情に対応する。機器の操作や性能に関する顧客からの質問に対し、営業部門や販売店が適切に対応できるよう支援する。必要に応じて、営業部門や販売店に対し、設置・稼働環境および要件に関するサポートをはじめ、その他の現場での技術サポートを提供する。

• Provide technical support to dealers through email, telephone and on-site support as and when necessary.

必要に応じて、メール、電話、および現地訪問を通じて販売店に技術サポートを提供する。

• Travel within Japan as and when required to perform the job functions listed above.

上記の職務を遂行するために、必要に応じて日本国内を移動することがあります。

The Experience, Skills and Abilities Needed

• High school diploma or higher (including technical colleges, vocational schools, junior colleges, universities, or graduate schools).

大学院、大学、短期大学、専修・各種学校、高等専門学校、高等学校卒以上。

• Valid driver’s license (Class 1 standard vehicle).

普通自動車免許第一種

• A minimum of 3 years of technical service experience in medical devices.

医療機器における3年以上の技術サービス経験。

• Candidates with experience in the repair of medical washers, particularly those with hands-on installation experience, are preferred.

医療用洗浄機の修理業務に関連し、特に設置の実務経験がある方を歓迎します。

• Proficient in the installation, repair, and maintenance of steam and water piping systems.

蒸気配管、水配管の設置、修理、および保守に精通している。

• Positive work attitude, customer-oriented, and a strong team player.

前向きな仕事への姿勢及び顧客志向を持ち、チームワークに長けている。

• Candidates should be comfortable using English, regardless of their level of proficiency.

英語のレベルは問いませんが、英語を使用する事に対して抵抗の無い方。

• The ability to travel for business trips that involve an overnight stay.

宿泊を伴う出張が可能である事。

• Willingness to work on weekends, public holidays, and during night hours. Occurs rarely. Substitute holiday provided.

土日祝日及び夜間作業に抵抗のない方。まれに発生。振替休日取得。
