Job Description
We are seeking a qualified Treating Engineer 2 for our operations in Bay Minette, Alabama. This role performs operational work related to daily work instructions, inspection, grading, treatment and materials. Operates the treating plant safely and proficiently. The expected work schedule is 6 pm - 6 am.
Principal Responsibilities:
Operate and control systems by prescribed operating procedures, including, but not limited to the following major systems:
Boiler and pressure vessels
vacuum and condensate recovery systems
preservative mix
transfer and storage systems
hazardous and solid waste processing and storage
charge transfer tables
emergency response equipment
Perform all duties of inspector, machine operator (2) and laborer positions as required
Operate all aspects of treating at or above target production levels
Performs security duties
Participates and contributes to company safety program
Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: One year wood products treating experience preferred, must have experience working with chemicals
License/Certification: Pesticide applicators license preferred; Boiler Operating License preferred, PIE Certified
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Required plant safety orientation
Pass the state pesticide certification exam
Respiratory training and pass the medical exam and fit test (clean shaved face may be required)
Ability to learn federal and state regulations and hazardous waste regulations related to the treating department
Ability to learn quality control standards related to the treating department
Ability to learn customer specifications
Complete all required “Continuous Education Units” to keep pesticide certification
