POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Loan Review Auditor conducts independent, risk-based loan reviews to validate credit quality, underwriting, risk rating accuracy, collateral/documentation sufficiency, policy compliance, and portfolio risk trends. This position produces clear reporting, identifies root causes, recommends corrective actions, and tracks remediation through closure. The Senior Loan Review Auditor serves as primary coordinator and oversight partner for the bank’s third-party loan review engagement to include supporting scoping, data readiness, vendor coordination, methodology validation, deliverable review, reconciliation of findings, and management/examiner reporting. This position reports to the Chief Risk Officer and provides excellent service and support to team members and customers while demonstrating the Company’s values and supporting the mission.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform independent, risk-based loan reviews across commercial, consumer, real estate, and specialty portfolios as applicable
- Plan and scope reviews based on risk, portfolio trends, growth, concentrations, and prior findings
- Maintain knowledge of lending policy and procedure and identify deviation from policy
- Participate in audit pre-planning meetings
- Assist in the creation and ongoing development of audit programs to assess compliance with policies and internal controls
- Adapt audit procedures as needed to comply with evolving credit risk trends, regulatory expectations, and internal policy updates
- Prepare audit work papers that are properly documented, accurate, and completed in adherence with the annual loan review plan
- Confer with Loan Review Manager regarding audit findings and assist with development of corrective action plans as needed
- Assist in the preparation of reports for the quarterly Audit Committee meetings
- Assist in the development of the annual loan review audit risk assessment
- Participate in policy revisions and audit planning cycles to confirm the review function remains aligned with strategic and operational changes
- Utilize technology to streamline review process and reporting
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional associations
- Attend training as requested
- Adhere to compliance with all federal bank regulations and laws, including those for consumer protection and the Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering Program
- Participate in outside community activities as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or similar field preferred
- 5 years of bank audit, examination, or loan review experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and other standard software applications
- Prior experience with commercial and residential real estate data platforms to support market analysis and risk monitoring
- Familiar with large commercial real estate and construction and land development loans
- Knowledge of loan underwriting concepts such as cash flow and financial statement analysis
- Ability to develop loan review audit scopes and complete reviews with minimal supervision
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including effective presentation skills
- Ability to present audit findings to management and Board of Directors
- Detail oriented
- Critical thinking and analytical skills including the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
