About this role

To develop and deliver customer and channel strategies for National Key Accounts that bring Diageo’s brand and category strategies to life in-store and online.

To act as a pivotal bridge between Sales, Marketing, and Finance, ensuring Joint Business Plans (JBP) are insight-led, executable, and ROI-driven.

To elevate execution standards and shopper experience across all NKA touchpoints.

You will be responsible for:

1. Strategy & Planning

  • Develop customer-specific channel strategies and activation plans aligned with brand, category, and commercial priorities.
  • Lead the customer marketing input into Joint Business Planning (JBP) with National Key Account customers.
  • Translate shopper, consumer, and customer insights into executable plans that drive awareness, trial, and conversion.

2. Shopper Marketing & Activation Excellence

  • Develop shopper marketing programs that influence purchase behavior and improve execution quality at shelf and in-store.
  • Lead channel activation planning (promotions, visibility, gifting, POSM, execution standards).
  • Develop compelling selling stories that clearly articulate the “why” for customer engagement.
  • Partner with field sales teams to ensure flawless execution and rapid issue resolution.

3. Commercial & Financial Management

  • Own customer marketing budgets (A&P / trade spend) and ensure disciplined investment management.
  • Track, measure, and evaluate activation effectiveness and ROI to continuously optimize plans.
  • Support delivery of channel AOP targets including NSV and trade investment efficiency.

4. Cross‑Functional Leadership & Collaboration

  • Act as the key interface between Sales, Brand Marketing, Finance, and Supply teams for NKA execution.
  • Work with agencies (BTL, creative, production) as project lead to deliver high-quality activations on time and within budget.
  • Provide clear communication, guidance, and tools to internal stakeholders to enable execution success.

5. Market & Competitive Intelligence

  • Continuously monitor market trends, shopper behavior, and competitive activity within NKA channels.
  • Translate on-the-ground insights into recommendations for strategy refinement and innovation.

6. Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure all customer marketing activities fully comply with Diageo Marketing Code, local alcohol regulations, and internal governance processes.
  • Act as a role model for ethical conduct, compliance, and responsible marketing.

The required qualifications for this role are:

  • 5–8 years of experience in Customer Marketing, Trade Marketing, Sales, or Category Management within FMCG or Consumer Goods.
  • Proven experience managing National Key Accounts (Hypermarket, Supermarkets, CVS, or Large Chains preferred).
  • Strong shopper marketing capability with a track record of delivering in-store activation excellence.
  • Solid commercial and analytical skills, with ability to assess financial impact and ROI.
  • Experience working in fast-paced, highly competitive environments.
  • Strong influencing, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, and Finance.
  • Native Mandarin and fluent English (spoken and written).
