What’s the role
As Project Security Lead, you will provide direct support to the HI project security risk management and functional support for HI project following the Opportunity Realization Standards (ORS). You will work closely with the Project Security Manager, continually monitor the threat, assess the resulting risks, and design appropriate mitigations that will ensure the project has a cost-effective, fit for purpose security solution to ensure security risks are managed to ALARP, and all stakeholders are aware of the risks faced by the project. You will contribute robustly to the maturation and development of the HI project including but not limited to support for:
Security deliverables and documentation through DG1 - DG 5
Pre-FEED and FEED activities.
Development and review of security plans
Security risk management in project execution
Implementation of security assurance plans
What you’ll be doing
You will be responsible for the planning and cost of the security architecture associated with the project execute phase. You will have solid-line reporting relationship to the Project Security Manager but have a dotted-line reporting to the Project Manager, and a strong working relationship with the project Leads.
Lead and coordinate the identification, assessment, and development of security risk mitigation plans aligned with project objectives, schedule, cost controls, and overall risk management framework.
Provide structured security input into cross-discipline integration workshops, project reviews, and ensure integration of security requirements into engineering, logistics, execution, and operational plans.
Support delivery of all required security outputs in line with ORS Decision Gates (DG1–DG5), and ensure smooth documentation and handover from pre-DG3 to execution teams.
Evaluate and implement security technologies and best practices to enhance project security posture, resilience, and lifecycle cost efficiency, while ensuring compliance with Group Security Standards and SEAM Framework.
Actively participate in pre-DG4 project cadence meetings and support project package leads in managing risks to ALARP, including oversight and assurance of contractor and company security plans.
Monitor effectiveness of physical security measures at project sites (deter, deny, detect, delay, respond) and maintain a common operating picture through engagement with the Security Operations Centre and SCiN operations.
Coordinate closely with Security Coordinators, intelligence teams, contractors, and logistics teams to support daily intelligence sharing, integrated logistics planning, emergency response, project movements, and availability of GSAs and security vessels.
Conduct LOD1 assurance, drive implementation of offshore security mitigations, lead drills, ensure VPSHR briefings and compliance, support pre-startup risk assessments, and deputize for the Project Security Manager as required.
What you bring
Minimum of bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution. Post graduate qualification in relevant fields will be an advantage.
Strength in project management, analytics, planning, communication and writing. Ability to work across teams and collaborate with others to deliver results.
Professional certification in industrial security (PFSO, PSP and/or CPP from ASIS or equivalent body) will be an advantage.
Knowledge of Exploration & Production (E&P) business, especially in the Niger Delta region and Gulf of Guinea. Exposure to energy, infrastructure, or regulated industries is beneficial.
At least 4 years of relevant experience with minimum of 2 years in project delivery roles within top-tier consulting firms, or data-driven industry environments.
Good computing skills and experience with managing data, creating, and managing simple databases and general use of activity planning tools.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and experience leveraging digital collaboration and reporting tools to drive efficiency and transparency.

Special Challenges
Understanding the security and geo-political dynamics across the Niger-Delta region of Nigeria and the Gulf of Guinea.
