Mechanical Engineering Intern
Position Summary
KDC/ONE is a global leader in beauty, personal care, health, OTC, home, industrial, and automotive manufacturing, providing innovative solutions to many of the world's leading brands. We are seeking a motivated and eager-to-learn Mechanical Engineering Intern who has recently graduated from high school and is interested in pursuing a career in engineering, manufacturing, automation, or industrial maintenance.
This internship provides hands-on experience working alongside our Engineering, Maintenance, and Production teams. Interns will gain exposure to manufacturing equipment, engineering projects, machine troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives while developing valuable technical and professional skills.
Responsibilities
Assist Mechanical Engineers with day-to-day engineering and maintenance projects.
Learn to read and interpret basic mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and equipment documentation.
Support engineering staff in updating AutoCAD drawings and equipment layouts.
Observe and assist with machine troubleshooting and preventive maintenance activities.
Help collect production and equipment data for engineering analysis.
Assist with equipment inspections and documentation.
Participate in continuous improvement and process optimization projects.
Help organize engineering files, project documentation, and maintenance records.
Follow all company safety policies and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Work collaboratively with Engineering, Maintenance, and Production team members.
Perform other related duties as assigned to support the Engineering Department.
Qualifications
Recent high school graduate.
Interest in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
Planning to attend or currently enrolled in a technical school, community college, or university engineering program is preferred but not required.
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Willingness to learn AutoCAD and manufacturing systems.
Strong mechanical aptitude and curiosity about how machines operate.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Reliable, organized, and detail-oriented.
Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.
