Mercedes-Benz New Zealand has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Parts Logistics and Inventory leader to join our Auckland Airport Logistics Centre. This is a pivotal leadership role combining operational excellence, customer service, people leadership and Site Manager responsibility within one of the world’s most recognised luxury automotive brands.

Working closely with local and regional stakeholders across New Zealand, and the Asia-Pacific region, you will help shape a high-performing parts and logistics operation that supports our dealer network, essential service partners and customers. You will also play an important role in supporting operational readiness for future mobility, while maintaining strong health, safety, environmental and quality standards across site operations.

The Role:

In this full-time, permanent leadership role, you will be a key member of our Management Team, leading Parts Logistics and Inventory operations in partnership with the Warehouse Manager. Based at our Logistics Centre in Landing Drive, Auckland Airport, you will be responsible for service delivery, inventory performance, continuous improvement, team leadership and Site Manager oversight, including health, safety, environmental and compliance leadership aligned with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and our integrated ISO management system.

Key responsibilities:

·        Lead the Parts Logistics and Inventory function to deliver strong service, parts availability, inventory control, transport performance and customer outcomes across the Mercedes-Benz New Zealand dealer network.

·        Manage inventory performance, stock turn, forecasting, procurement and KPI reporting to ensure alignment with regional and global requirements.

·        Act as Site Manager for the Auckland Airport logistics site, providing visible leadership across site operations, contractor management, emergency readiness, incident management and day-to-day operational governance.

·        Lead health, safety and environmental practices on site in alignment with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, including hazard and risk management, worker engagement, investigations, corrective actions and verification of effective controls.

·        Support and maintain compliance with integrated management system requirements and accreditation standards, with practical leadership across ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 processes, audits, reporting and continuous improvement activities.

·        Build, coach and develop a high-performing team culture focused on accountability, collaboration, learning and service excellence.

·        Work collaboratively with local and international colleagues to support business continuity, future mobility readiness and a sustainable operational footprint.

What you will bring:

·        Proven leadership experience in parts logistics, inventory, warehousing or supply chain operations within a complex operational environment with minimum of 5 years’ + experience.

·        Demonstrated Site Manager or multi-hazard operational leadership experience, with the ability to oversee site activities, contractors, emergency preparedness and operational risk.

·        Strong health, safety and environmental capability, including practical experience applying the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and leading risk-based safety practices.

·        Experience working within certified or aligned management systems, with a sound understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements in an operational setting.

·        Commercially minded with strong analytical capability, KPI reporting experience and a continuous improvement mindset.

·        Confident stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across local teams, dealer networks and regional or global partners.

·        People leadership experience with a track record of building team capability, accountability and engagement.

·        Relevant tertiary qualification in business, logistics, engineering or a related discipline is advantageous, and experience with automotive systems such as Incadea/Microsoft Dynamics Nav will be well regarded.

Why join us:

·          Lead a critical function for one of the world’s most iconic premium automotive brands.

·          Take on a broad leadership role with genuine influence across operations, people, customer outcomes and site performance.

·          Be part of a business focused on innovation, future mobility, sustainability and continuous improvement.

·          Work with local, regional and global colleagues across a highly respected international organisation.

·          Enjoy flexible working arrangements, a smart-casual environment, on-site parking and a competitive benefits package including a company car.
