Commodity Management within our Procurement organization develops and executes strategies that ensure a resilient, cost-optimized, and high-performing supply chain. We leverage deep market intelligence across foreign and domestic markets to negotiate supplier agreements with optimal pricing and terms. By combining expertise in commodity analysis, technology roadmaps, logistics, risk management, and supply chain modelling, we deliver strategies that drive measurable competitive advantage for Dell Technologies worldwide.
What you'll achieve
As a Senior Consultant in Commodity Management, you will serve as a strategic leader within Dell's Worldwide Procurement organization, responsible for driving end-to-end commodity strategies across multiple spend categories on a global scale. You will lead cross-functional teams, develop supplier strategies, execute long-range plans, optimize global supply chains, and build high-impact supplier relationships across several commodity areas and spend categories in close partnership with key business stakeholders.
You will be accountable for defining and achieving performance goals and metrics that improve total delivered and lifecycle value across commodity cost, quality, technology, and services. You will also be responsible for driving procurement initiatives, championing process improvements, and gathering cross functional feedback to continuously strengthen Dell's global procurement programs.
This is a high-visibility leadership role reporting directly to the Vice President, Worldwide Procurement. You will lead and develop a high-performing team while representing the function at the executive level. Executive-level presentation skills, communication are critical to success in this role.
You will:
- Lead Cross-Functional Strategy: Partner across Dell's Supply Chain organization on strategic deliverables and customer-driven requests, directing the efforts of cross-functional teams toward the achievement of strategic and operational objectives
- Drive Competitive Advantage: Lead strategic and operational commodity teams to position Dell for market leadership in key areas including Time-to-Market, Availability/Capacity, Cost, Quality, Technology, and Service Level
- Champion Process Excellence: Develop and implement innovative tools and processes to elevate commodity management practices across spend categories, and share best practices with other groups across the organization
- Ensure Global Supply Continuity: Maintain full accountability for supply and demand continuity across all of Dell's global service hubs, proactively managing risks and ensuring uninterrupted operations
- Develop Talent: Lead, mentor, and grow your team by identifying development opportunities and building a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous learning
Essential Requirements
- 10+ years of progressive experience in procurement, commodity management, or supply chain leadership within a global environment
- Drive the services continuity of supply and budget deliverables across all global regions, ensuring consistent performance against established targets
- Regularly host operations reviews and provide strategic direction for measurable improvements in key commodity metrics including cost, quality, product performance, availability, and service level
- Set global procurement strategies and oversee effective implementation within all regions, ensuring alignment with Dell's overarching business objectives
- Develop, negotiate, and manage large-scale, high-value vendor relationships and contracts that deliver optimal outcomes for Dell Technologies
- Span across the functional organization to identify next career opportunities for team members, fostering professional growth and retention
- Demonstrated ability to influence and lead in a complex, matrixed organizational structure
Desirable Requirements
- Advanced understanding of procurement and supply chain practices, including category management and strategic sourcing methodologies
- Significant focus on and proven track record in business process improvement (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent frameworks)
- Experience with procurement technology platforms, analytics tools, and data-driven decision-making
