Job Summary / Objective
Independently performs more complex helper tasks and supports painters by preparing materials and parts for painting. Demonstrates growing knowledge of paint processes and quality standards.
Essential Job Functions and Duties
- Perform all duties of Painters Helper
- Plug holes in preparation for coating
- Assist Painters with Parts Wipedown
- Assist Painters with final prep
- Maintain clean work area
- Empty garbages throughout the department
- Clean paint racks
- Restock primer shelves
- Monitor consumables and report low inventory to lead
- Return paint rack hooks to body shop
- Clean parts before priming / Raptor
- Help inspect incoming materials against packing slip
- Stock material in bulk storage when received
- Clean paint hooks from old paint.
- Move racks in and out of booths
- Sort and clean silicone plugs
- Sweep floors
- Help clean parts before they go in the booth
- Clean foam pads in bucket from detail team
- Get parts from immersion department
- Maintain Paint Equipment
- Maintain Paint Booth (assisting Maintenance Department)
- Mix paint materials in accordance with TDS
- Remove basic debris, runs, etc. from painted surfaces
- Final Polishing
- Works under direct supervision on duties and tasks that are standardized, selecting from written instructions, and established procedures.
- Maintains tools and keeps equipment clean and in proper working order.
- Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer.
- Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials. Reports any deviations to management.
- Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect paint department operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA, etc.

Required Education and Experience

1–2 years of paint or manufacturing experience.

Basic knowledge of paint prep and department processes.
Work Schedule / Additional Eligibility Requirements

This position schedule is 6AM - 4:30 PM Monday - Thursday

Additional overtime required depending on manufacturing needs

Post Offer Background check and drug screening may be required
Physical Requirements
-
Must be able to stand on concrete for the duration of the shift.
-
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop.

Must be able to grip and operate hand tools with a minimum of 50 in/lbs. of force
-
Must be able to lift and carry 30 lbs. for at least 15 feet.
-
Safety Glasses must be worn at all times when in certain production areas.
-
Enclosed non-skid shoes must be worn at all times when in the production areas.

Paid Time Off

80 hours of vacation and 40 hours of flex time accrued during your first year of employment
