We’re excited to announce that New World Te Atatū will be opening its doors August 2026, offering a new full-service modern supermarket and creating 100 new roles for the Peninsula.
We’re looking for Deli & Bakery Assistants to join our team at New World Te Atatu. If you enjoy working with fresh food, take pride in presentation, and love helping customers, this is a great opportunity to be part of a vibrant and fast-paced store.

Roles commencing 3rd August 2026

One weekend day working required
Te Tūranga – About the role
-
Prepare and pack bakery products to a high standard, ensuring quality and consistency
-
Price products accurately and maintain clear, correct ticketing
-
Merchandise displays so they are full, fresh, and visually appealing
-
Prepare fresh food such as sandwiches, salads, and other deli items
-
Cook and present hot food, including rotisserie chickens
-
Serve customers with friendly, knowledgeable service and product recommendations
-
Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized workspace at all times
-
Meet and exceed food safety and hygiene standards
-
Work collaboratively across both departments, contributing to a high-performing team

We’re looking for someone who brings energy, strong work ethic, and a genuine passion for fresh food and great service.

Ideally, you have experience in a kitchen, food production, deli, or bakery environment

You’re confident preparing food and understand the importance of quality, consistency, and presentation
-
You take food safety seriously and are committed to maintaining high hygiene standards
-
You deliver excellent customer service and enjoy interacting with a wide range of people
-
You’re proactive, quick to see what needs doing and get it done

You’re reliable, hardworking, and take pride in doing your job well

You thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy being part of a busy, hands-on team
