Description
This is a hands-on, production-focused engineering role centered on troubleshooting, failure analysis, and root cause investigation of complex electronic systems.
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer III to support the ramp-up of our new operations in Solon, OH. This role is critical to ensuring production continuity by serving as a primary technical resource for diagnosing and resolving hardware failures in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
The ideal candidate thrives working directly with hardware, is comfortable on the production floor, and takes ownership of technical issues from identification through resolution. This role partners closely with Manufacturing, Quality, and Program Management and plays a key role in ensuring product performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction.
This role aligns closely with backgrounds such as Test Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Failure Analysis Engineer, or Hardware Troubleshooting Engineer.
Key Responsibilities
Production Support & Troubleshooting:
- First line of defense for production failures
- Hands-on troubleshooting using oscilloscopes, schematics, and test equipment
- Diagnose failures at component, circuit, and system level
- Work directly on production floor
Failure Analysis & Root Cause:
- Lead root cause analysis (fault trees, fishbone)
- Develop failure reports and corrective actions
- Communicate findings internally and to customers
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering
- Participate in production discussions
Test & Process Support:
- Support test processes and validation
- Improve troubleshooting procedures
Product Support:
- Support documentation and design reviews
Qualifications
- Strong troubleshooting of analog circuits
- Root cause / failure analysis experience
- Ability to read schematics
- Experience with lab equipment
- Experience troubleshooting PCB, electronic assemblies, hardware systems
- Strong communication skills
- Cross-functional teamwork
- FMEA / Six Sigma preferred
- Cadence tools (nice to have)
- Experience in aerospace, medical, semiconductor preferred
Education & Experience
- BS in Electrical Engineering (MS preferred)
- 10+ years experience (flexible for strong candidates)
Travel
- Up to 75% travel first 90 days (Hollister training)
- Minimal travel after ramp (~5–10%)
