Job Summary
The AVP National Processing Operations is responsible for leading and managing the loan setup and processing functions to ensure efficient pipeline management, superior loan quality, and exceptional service delivery. This role oversees operational policies, procedures, and technology initiatives, driving process improvements and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. The position fosters a high-performance culture focused on employee development, retention, and teambuilding while partnering with internal stakeholders to support organizational goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operational Leadership & Pipeline Management – Provide strategic and tactical oversight of the loan setup and processing teams, ensuring timely movement of loans through the pipeline in alignment with service level agreements and regulatory standards.
Policy & Procedure Development – Establish, implement, and maintain operational policies and procedures to drive efficiency, loan quality, and compliance with agency, investor, federal, and state requirements.
Technology & Process Improvements – Lead initiatives to enhance workflow through process optimization, automation, and technology solutions, partnering with internal teams to ensure seamless integration and adoption.
Performance & Quality Management – Set and monitor productivity, quality, compliance and service standards; track performance metrics; provide regular reporting and analysis to identify trends, mitigate risks, and ensure operational excellence. Ensure all activities meet applicable laws, regulations and guidelines.
People Leadership, Teambuilding & Stakeholder Collaboration – Manage, mentor, and develop functional managers and staff, fostering an engaged, collaborative, and high-performing team culture. Oversee talent acquisition, retention strategies, training programs, and career development initiatives. Partner with sales, underwriting, closing/funding and other internal departments to maintain alignment, resolve escalations, and support a best-in-class customer and partner experience.
Change Management – Lead the team through organizational, procedural, or system changes, ensuring smooth transitions with minimal disruption to productivity and service.

Position Requirements
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience required
Experience
Minimum twelve (12) years of mortgage processing and originations experience
Minimum of seven (7) years mortgage industry processing leadership experience
Experience managing remote employees required
Functional/Technical Skills
Demonstrated strong leadership skills
Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills. Ability to interact effectively with external and internal clients across departments and locations.
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with team
Working knowledge of mortgage loan documents, loan origination program and underwriting guidelines
Demonstrates a commitment to quality customer service
Strong attention to detail
Well organized with the ability to multi-task
Demonstrates strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
Works well with others
Proficient in all compliance-related regulations including RESPA and TRID
Strong mathematical skills
Strong PC skills (MS Office products) and experience with mortgage origination systems. Encompass experience preferred.
