Job Description
The Granite Club is looking for a part time Hair Designer who entails every aspect of the salon experience. The Designer must provide consultations, recommend hair care products to every Member and deliver quality technical service. This position also requires maintaining Salon & Barbershop standards and co-operation with fellow Salon professionals.

Primary Responsibilities
Greet all Members in person for each and every service.
Consult with Members on hair needs, recommend professional hair care and services and deliver quality technical services which will enhance the Members' total look.
Be proficient in the latest salon techniques for hair cutting, color, highlights, and styling.
Be proficient in the use of salon equipment needed to perform technical work.
Responsible for building strong retention of the salon Member base. This is to be accomplished through pre-booking appointments, service/product recommendations, and utilizing any promotional material available.
Learn all product application techniques, and benefits of all products sold and used in the salon.
Responsible for the daily cleaning of workstation including sweeping up after each Member, cleaning small and large mirrors, and chairs and maintaining product niches.
Responsible for providing own cutting utensils.
Maintain equipment in proper working order and ensure that back-up equipment is available if required.
Assume responsibilities of assisting fellow Designers throughout the day.
Restock all product and supplies and notify Management of low stock.
Use all products carefully, avoiding waste, injury to Members.
Consistently follow manufacturers’ instructions on all products.
Meet service and retail revenue goals set for the department.
Promote Salon services and support team culture.
Attend department/organization meetings & trainings as required.
Track client progress, formulas, and maintaining complete and accurate client files.
Maintain all salon policies and procedures at all times.
Maintain confidentiality of Member’s information.
Actively promote and recommend Members to visit “Touchpoints” for any Salon & Barbershop feedback about their experience.
Maintain open communication with Receptionist’s and Colleagues.
Ensures all services are performed within the Club’s established time standards to support scheduling flow and an exceptional guest experience.
Downtime is to be properly utilized.
Other duties as requested.
Required Qualifications
Acquire a license in Hairstyling.
Minimum 2 years' experience in an upscale salon.
Must have basic to advanced colour, highlights and styling including Updo’s and cutting Men, children (boy’s and girl's).
Diploma and Certificate in Vocational Studies (DEP) in Hairstyling
Highly computer literate.
Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills.
Highly customer/member service oriented.
Well-groomed, mannerly, co-operative, team-oriented, and friendly.
Punctual and reliable.
Able to work independently.
Willingness and ability to learn.
Flexible to work variable shifts; evenings, weekends and holidays
Compensation
The hourly rate for this position is $31.74.
