The Idaho Industrial Commission is seeking a Compliance Specialist (Technical Records Specialist 2) to review business operations, research and interpret workers’ compensation laws and regulations, and help determine employer coverage and worker classification under Idaho Workers’ Compensation Insurance laws.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
· Research and analyze Employer Compliance records, business documents, policy databases, and other resources to determine compliance with the Workers’ Compensation Insurance Law.
· Conduct fact-finding interviews to gather information about business operations to support coverage determinations.
· Explain policies, procedures, and technical information to workers’ compensation stakeholders.
· Review canceled policy reports, prepare and process notices of non-compliance, track employer responses, and issue follow-up notices as needed.
Minimum Experience:
Typically gained by 6 months of experience:
· Monitoring record systems to identify and correct errors.
· Interpreting, explaining, and applying laws, regulations, and complex policies for multiple or highly specialized programs
· Analyzing information and researching a variety of sources to identify and resolve problems or issues
· Dealing with individuals from varying cultural and socio-economic backgrounds in stressful situations
· Entering and retrieving data using a computerized record system
· Composing and proofreading business correspondence
Desirable Experience:
· Communicating verbally and in writing with a variety of people to effectively gather and document information.
· Composing and proofreading business correspondence.
· Storing, entering, and retrieving data using records management software.
· Retrieving and compiling information in a report format using data-based software.
· Analyzing information and researching a variety of sources.
· A high level of accuracy, attention to detail, and good time management skills.
· Good working knowledge of Idaho workers’ compensation insurance law.
