About the Role:

The Vet Technician, Credentialed, plays a critical role in supporting veterinarians by providing high-quality medical care to animals in a clinical setting. This position involves performing a variety of technical tasks including administering medications, collecting samples, and assisting with diagnostic procedures to ensure accurate and timely treatment. The Vet Technician will also be responsible for monitoring patient health, maintaining medical records, and educating pet owners on proper animal care and post-treatment instructions. By collaborating closely with veterinarians and other staff, the Vet Technician helps to create a compassionate and efficient environment that promotes animal welfare. Ultimately, this role is essential in delivering comprehensive veterinary services that improve the health and well-being of animal patients across diverse clinical cases.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited Veterinary Technician program.
  • Credentialed as a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT), Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), or Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) in the United States.
  • Strong understanding of animal anatomy, physiology, and common veterinary medical procedures.
  • Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately in a clinical environment.
  • Basic proficiency in medical record keeping and familiarity with veterinary software systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a veterinary clinic or hospital
  • Knowledge of specialized diagnostic equipment such as in house Idexx,Tonometry and etc. But we can teach these things.
  • Strong communication skills for client education and team collaboration.
  • Continuing education in veterinary medicine or related fields.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures by preparing equipment and restraining animals safely.
  • Collect and process laboratory samples such as blood, urine, and tissue for diagnostic testing.
  • Administer prescribed medications, vaccinations, and treatments under the supervision of a veterinarian.
  • Monitor and record vital signs and patient progress, reporting any changes or concerns promptly to the veterinary team.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, ensuring compliance with clinic protocols and legal requirements.
  • Educate pet owners on post-treatment care, nutrition, and preventive health measures to support animal recovery and wellness.
  • Manage inventory of medical supplies and equipment, ensuring readiness and proper sterilization.
  • Support emergency care efforts by responding quickly and efficiently to urgent animal health situations.

The required skills enable the Vet Technician to perform clinical tasks efficiently and safely, such as administering medications, collecting samples, and assisting in surgeries. Proficiency in medical record keeping and veterinary software ensures accurate documentation and smooth clinic operations. Preferred skills like advanced certifications and experience with diagnostic equipment enhance the technician’s ability to support complex medical procedures and emergency care. Strong communication skills are essential for educating pet owners and collaborating effectively with veterinarians and support staff.
