Job Description
Position Summary and Scope of Responsibility:
Manual work involving semi-skilled tasks in the installation, repair, and maintenance of municipal water
distribution and sewer collection systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Locate water and sewer lines; replace and repair water/sewer lines, valves, and manhole
cover.
. Repair leaks, rebuild fire hydrants; serve as helper or assistant to skilled personnel
. Flag and direct traffic and establish traffic control measure to include installation of
appropriate signaling devices
. Drive trucks; operate mechanized equipment; used hand tools, jack hammer, pipe wrenches;
Physical Requirements:
Sufficient physical strength to lift at least L00 pounds. Perform other strenuous physical tasks over
extended periods of time under varying weather conditions including the ability to climb/descend,
balance and work at varying heights; ability to bend, stoop, crouch, and crawl. Must possess sufficient
arm and hand strength to operate all required tools and equipment controls.
Necessary Requirements:
Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
Must have an insurable driving record.
Must submit to a pre-employment drug screening
Must complete background check.
