A day in the life.

We are looking for an energetic, positive person to join the Marsh & McLennan Agency – Northeast Retirement & Wealth Team. Reporting to the President of the Retirement & Wealth, while also working very closely with the Marsh McLennan Agency’s National Chief Investment Officer, this position will be responsible for developing and delivering solutions for institutional clients, such as plan sponsors and trustees of defined-contribution retirement plans, pension funds and other institutional asset pools. The Director, Investment Consulting collects and analyses data from Investment Managers and third-party record keepers utilizing a variety of tools and performs analysis to develop recommendations and generate/present quarterly reports to clients.

This role supports the Marsh & McLennan Agency’s sales and service teams in their efforts to retain existing clients and secure new retirement business. In this position, the employee will gain a strong foundation of all aspects of the retirement business, equipping them to grow within the practice and the company.

The Director of Investments will be relied upon for insight and broad knowledge of investment markets and products. This is a great opportunity for an Investment Professional who enjoys a fast-paced, collaborative culture!

  • Collect and analyze investment data, formulate recommendations, generate accurate and timely investment-related materials, and present to internal and external audiences
  • Participate in client meetings, communicating information about the markets and specific investments within the plan
  • Critically analyze different investment markets, managers' investment styles and portfolio characteristics and evaluate their impact on investment performance each quarter and produce accurate and detailed client reports through analysis of client-specific investment data in support of their consulting colleagues
  • Communicate with investment managers and custodians to gather and/or clarify client-specific data for reporting.
  • Closely examine and monitor developments at investment management firms and notify clients of critical issues in an accurate and timely manner
  • Play an important role in investment manager searches, mutual fund selection, asset allocation studies and other investment-related activities
  • Assist the project team in organizing and validating data in Excel and other database software to be used for various projects
  • Work is performed in a typical interior/office work environment, during core office hours of 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (Eastern Standard Time). Extended work hours required on occasion.
  • Expectation if to work in the office four (4) days per week.

We’d love to meet you if your professional track record includes these skills:

  • 5-7 years of industry/applicable experience with bachelor’s degree and strong technical expertise in retirement plan design/administration. Direct consulting experience is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, including advanced writing and presentation skills
  • FINRA Series 65 or 66 licensure required within 120 days of being hired.
  • Certified Financial Analyst or similar designation preferred
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to express ideas clearly, both in written and oral communication
  • Comfortable presenting in group environment, both in person and virtually
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage projects amidst competing deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail

These additional qualifications are a plus, but not required to apply:

  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite (emphasis on Excel & PowerPoint) with strength in analyzing and synthesizing data.
  • Knowledge of Zoom, Webinar, and video conferencing skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree

The applicable base salary range for this role is $117,300 to $218,500.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
