Senior Marine Executive
This role reports to the Marine Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Underwrite and quote a diverse portfolio of Hull & Machinery (H&M) and Cargo accounts for both new and existing clients, with a strong focus on local insureds, within defined underwriting authority limits.
- Specialize in underwriting commercial and/ or complex cargoes eg: project cargoes, bulk etc. as well as high-value marine risks, including pleasure crafts and bluewater vessels.
- Manage the full lifecycle of facultative reinsurance inwards and outwards, ensuring alignment with the company’s risk appetite and strategic objectives.
- Drive business development and growth through strategic collaboration with intermediaries and key clients to achieve top and bottom-line targets.
- Oversee policy documentation, issuance of endorsements and certificates and ensure seamless coordination with internal processing teams and intermediaries/ clients.
- Lead and participate in digital transformation initiatives including the development and review of online marine portal and UAT processes, including coaching of intermediaries
- Manage and maintain accurate underwriting, renewal schedules and compliance databases and records.
- Provide expert technical guidance and training to distribution teams, intermediaries and internal stakeholders.
- Follow up on outstanding premiums and collaborate with actuarial team on treaty renewals
Qualifications
- At least 5 years and above of marine underwriting experience in an insurance company, mainly H&M and cargo
- Bachelor’s Degree of any discipline or equivalent will be considered
- Must have BCP & ComGI
- Good understanding of the marine insurance market
- Self-disciplined and ability to work with minimum supervision
- Computer literate and familiar with all MS Office, Excel
- Good communication and interaction skills
