Senior Marine Executive

This role reports to the Marine Manager 

Key Responsibilities

• Underwrite and quote a diverse portfolio of Hull & Machinery (H&M) and Cargo accounts for both new and existing clients, with a strong focus on local insureds, within defined underwriting authority limits.
• Specialize in underwriting commercial and/ or complex cargoes eg: project cargoes, bulk etc. as well as high-value marine risks, including pleasure crafts and bluewater vessels.
• Manage the full lifecycle of facultative reinsurance inwards and outwards, ensuring alignment with the company’s risk appetite and strategic objectives.
• Drive business development and growth through strategic collaboration with intermediaries and key clients to achieve top and bottom-line targets.
• Oversee policy documentation, issuance of endorsements and certificates and ensure seamless coordination with internal processing teams and intermediaries/ clients.
• Lead and participate in digital transformation initiatives including the development and review of online marine portal and UAT processes, including coaching of intermediaries
• Manage and maintain accurate underwriting, renewal schedules and compliance databases and records.
• Provide expert technical guidance and training to distribution teams, intermediaries and internal stakeholders.
• Follow up on outstanding premiums and collaborate with actuarial team on treaty renewals 

Qualifications

• At least 5 years and above of marine underwriting experience in an insurance company, mainly H&M and cargo
• Bachelor’s Degree of any discipline or equivalent will be considered
• Must have BCP & ComGI
• Good understanding of the marine insurance market
• Self-disciplined and ability to work with minimum supervision
• Computer literate and familiar with all MS Office, Excel
• Good communication and interaction skills
