We’re looking for our next Senior Cloud Platform Engineer. Could It Be You?
The Sr. Cloud Platform Engineer is part of the team that implements core infrastructure components, CI/CD pipelines and tooling that powers Questrade Cloud Platform to deliver self-servicing capabilities to our Engineer teams to onboard and operationalize cloud-native applications. Some of these components include container orchestration platforms (Google Kubernetes Engine), Service Mesh (Istio), container provisioning engines, configuration and secrets management, stand up / provisioning Terraform modules and others.
In this role, you will collaborate with the project and the architecture teams to influence the design and delivery of our footprint, shape Questrade’s cloud roadmap to deliver against the existing and future needs of the business, and build pipelines and tools to deliver cloud platform components and services for the broad enterprise.

You will:
Champion “Production Quality” and create cutting edge cloud infrastructure through Infrastructure-as-Code and automation.
Maintain and expand cloud infrastructure self-service tooling and Cloud Native Application CI/CD Pipeline that powers our internal platform used by hundreds of developers
Design, propose, facilitate organizational and process improvements as needed for supporting automation and DevSecOps
Provide expertise, direction, coaching and training to other team members on technologies and processes; drive education and knowledge transfer of design patterns, technical practices, and relevant technologies and tools
Lead and participate in technical discussions to aid system design, analysis, and troubleshooting cloud-native applications
Recommend strategies to drive down cost and improve efficiencies with supported vendor software and written code to ensure optimal use of available resources.
Help engineering teams to develop, test, debug and release scalable, resilient and highly available cloud-native applications quickly.
So are YOU our next Senior Cloud Platform Engineer? You are if you have…
Deep understanding of Cloud computing concepts and solutions including public, private, hybrid cloud.
A good understanding of Cloud Security, specifically IAM Roles & Policies, Security Groups and Encryption keys
Demonstrated experience supporting at least one of the predominant public clouds (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Advanced knowledge and understanding, and hands-on experience with container technologies, like Docker runtime and Kubernetes orchestration. Experience with Google Kubernetes Engine is nice to have.
Advanced knowledge and understanding CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
Ability to write clean code in at least one language (i.e Python, Golang, Bash etc.)
Experience working with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Cloud Deployment Manager.
Exposure or familiarity to Linux Operating system administration and a good understanding of Linux fundamentals like signals, scheduling, filesystems
Strong TCP/IP networking knowledge in either cloud or on-prem deployments: DNS, network, routing, L3/L7 protocols etc.
Advanced experience in building systems in a microservice environment. Understanding the building blocks of a resilient and scalable software.
