Job Description
The Modelling & Capital Markets team is part of the Group Financial Performance & Corporate Finance department within Group Finance division. The team supports the Board, Senior Management and other group divisions by delivering forward‑looking financial analysis and scenario‑based insights to inform decisions on capital management and funding. The department also maintains tight relationships with external stakeholders such as rating agencies, group regulators and financial institutions. The department works closely with key group functions, including corporate strategy, risk management and finance, contributing analytical input and financial insights to support group‑wide initiatives.
Role and responsibilities:
Located in Brussels, you will take on a multifunctional role within the Modelling & Capital Markets team, working closely with senior colleagues and contributing across the following areas:
- Capital management: Contribute to capital management activities including external debt issuances, inter‑entity loans (set‑up and monitoring), balance sheet projections, capital and liquidity planning exercises (including ICLAAP), dividend planning and capital monitoring. You will support the preparation of forward‑looking analyses used for internal decision‑making and governance purposes.
- Liquidity management: You will assist the team in the management of the group excess liquidity (mainly cash, investment funds and term deposits), consisting of liquidity monitoring, performance reporting and compliance review in line with group investment guidelines.
- Group financial reporting and ad-hoc analyses: You will perform and contribute to a wide range of financial analyses, a.o. investor presentations, peer group/competition analysis, suppliers risk assessments, goodwill impairment testing, group valuation etc.
- Model improvement, automation and documentation: Contribute to the continuous improvement, automation and documentation of financial models, projection tools and analytical processes, with the objective of enhancing robustness, transparency, efficiency and governance.
Required qualifications:
- You hold a university master degree or equivalent. Having a first work experience (1-2 years) in a financial function in the banking industry or with a Big 4 is a plus.
- You are able to work in a team as well as independently, and you take ownership of the responsibilities incumbent to you.
- You have a basic knowledge in corporate finance and accounting matters.
- You are able to analyse problems, identify critical factors in the decision-making process and clearly articulate messages.
- You are eager to learn.
- You are stress resistant and able to meet short deadlines.
- Excellent command of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Fluent in English: strong written and verbal communication skills
