Job Description
This Escrow Specialist II handles various tasks related to the escrow function of mortgage servicing, especially as it pertains to real estate taxes. This position requires exceptional customer service skills and the ability to handle customer inquiries and complaints that come through the Escrow phone queue in a professional and courteous manner. Organizational and planning skills are essential in order to prioritize and meet deadlines when processing Tax Files, researching tax claims, tax refunds, and other tax related issues that arise.
- Handle customer service calls and inquiries.
- Sort mail and prioritize all work.
- Scan loan documents into PHFA’s imaging system. Process automated tax files received from CoreLogic via the Digital Tax Processing menu.
- Process daily miscellaneous tax reports received from CoreLogic. Run reports semi-monthly for unpaid real estate taxes that are past due.
- Research and process tax refunds via Corelogic website. Review and process delinquent tax bills.
- Process fax and email requests from customers and/or tax collectors for real estate tax information.
- Review and complete tasks sent through MSP servicing system on a daily basis.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education:
- Associates degree-or higher preferred. Will consider commensurate work experience.
Experience:
- Computer proficiency (MS Office-Word, Excel and Outlook). Familiarity with Corelogic tax processing, IBM iSeries/AS400 and ICE MSP systems is a plus.
- Two to three years’ experience in real estate taxes and/or handling the escrow function of loan servicing.
Knowledge/ Skills:
- General real estate/mortgage knowledge as it relates to escrow department functions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail in managing escrow accounts and performing tasks.
- Ability to identify and resolve escrow issues as they relate to real estate taxes.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
- Detail oriented.
