Position Summary
The Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing projects related to HC Forklift equipment while providing advanced technical support to the dealer network and customers. This role serves as a key liaison between the factory, dealers, sales, service, suppliers, and internal engineering teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
Project Planning & Execution
  • Manage end-to-end material handling projects involving new equipment models, options, attachments, and components.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, execution plans, technical documentation, and commissioning activities for HC Forklift equipment.
  • Coordinate equipment specifications, configurations, and customizations based on customer applications and site requirements.
  • Monitor project progress, costs, timelines, risks, and change requests.
  • Develop, coordinate, and monitor production-related activities including manufacturing methods, fabrication requirements, and operational workflows as applicable.
  • Estimate project costs, support bid preparation, and provide technical input for proposals and commercial discussions.
 
Technical & Engineering Support
  • Provide technical expertise on HC Forklift products including IC forklifts, electric forklifts, reach trucks, pallet trucks, stackers, attachments, battery systems, and related accessories.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, load charts, capacity calculations, and computer-generated reports.
  • Research, evaluate, and specify mechanical and electrical system components to ensure conformance with design intent, performance specifications, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
  • Review customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and application data to assess feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements.
  • Support equipment troubleshooting, commissioning, and performance validation; investigate equipment failures and diagnose root causes.
  • Recommend corrective actions, design modifications, or configuration changes to eliminate system malfunctions or improve performance.
  • Write and define performance and technical requirements for product development, options, or engineering projects.
  • Provide feedback to factory and design engineers on customer needs, operational challenges, and field performance.
 
Cross-Functional Coordination & Liaison Role
  • Serve as a technical liaison between the factory, dealers, sales, service, operations, suppliers, and OEM partners throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Translate customer operational requirements into technical specifications and actionable project plans.
  • Confer with engineers and technical personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system issues, and ensure alignment on project objectives.
  • Support sales teams with technical proposals, site surveys, application reviews, and solution recommendations.
  • Assist drafters or design teams with structural or mechanical design development using CAD or computer-assisted drafting tools when required.
 
Customer & Site Management
  • Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and operational evaluations at customer facilities.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers during project execution.
  • Establish or coordinate maintenance procedures, safety requirements, service schedules, and material needs.
  • Oversee installation, operation, maintenance, or repair activities to ensure equipment is installed and functioning according to specifications.

  • Provide technical training, documentation, and handover support to customers, dealers, and internal service teams.
  • Deliver technical customer service and post-installation support.
 
Engineering Analysis, Testing & Continuous Improvement
  • Conduct research and engineering analysis to test or evaluate the feasibility, design, operation, or performance of equipment, components, or systems.
  • Develop or test models, prototypes, or alternate configurations to assess feasibility, operating conditions, sustainability, or the need for modification.
  • Design test procedures, control apparatus, or validation methods to verify product performance and compliance.
  • Study operational and industrial processes to maximize equipment efficiency, reliability, and optimal placement.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives based on project outcomes, customer feedback, and field performance data.
 
Leadership & Business Support
  • Provide technical oversight or supervision to technicians, technologists, or project support staff as required.
  • Support business development activities, including identifying opportunities, soliciting new business, and providing technical input during customer engagements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality systems, and regulatory requirements across all projects.
 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field.
  • Must have 2–5+ years of experience in project engineering within the forklift/material handling industry, or heavy equipment that is relatable.
  • Strong understanding of forklift applications, load capacities, warehouse operations, and safety standards.
  • Experience working with HC Forklift or similar brands is an advantage.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale procurement budgets, mechanical projects, and cross-functional teams.
  • Background in manufacturing, heavy equipment, industrial construction, automotive, or related industries is highly desirable.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration abilities with the engineering team.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-impact projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing Chinese to support communication with factories, suppliers, and technical documentation is strongly preferred
 
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary Range: $70,000 – $100,000 annually (based on experience and qualifications)
