As a Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of commercial contracts, ensuring efficient processing, compliance, and alignment with business objectives. You will play a critical role in supporting commercial transactions by managing contractual risk, facilitating negotiations, and ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.
You will contribute to safeguarding the organization by reviewing and analyzing contractual terms, identifying potential risks, and recommending practical solutions. In partnership with Legal, you will help implement and maintain contract policies, procedures, and templates to ensure consistency and compliance across the Commercial Segment.

This position will be long-term consulting assignment onsite in New Haven, CT reporting the Corporate Counsel, Commercial Segment.
What you will be doing
- Provide consultation and effectively manage complex contract lifecycle processes, including contract drafting, negotiation, execution, compliance, and ongoing administration for the Commercial Segment.
- Develop and implement standardized contract policies, procedures, and templates to ensure consistency, efficiency, and compliance with organizational requirements.
- Support the implementation of new CLM system long-term.
- Proactively identify and mitigate contractual and commercial risks by conducting thorough reviews and analysis of agreements supporting various sub-groups across the segment.
- Advise business leaders and stakeholders on contractual obligations, risk exposure, and compliance with applicable regulations and internal policies.
- Draft, review, and revise a wide range of commercial agreements, reports, and contractual documentation with a focus on clarity, accuracy, and risk mitigation.
- Manage high-volume NDA processing, including intake, triage, drafting from templates, redlining, and routing for internal approvals; track turnaround times, maintain NDA records in contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems, and ensure timely execution and compliance with confidentiality standards.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with legal, finance, procurement, sales and various business teams to support contract strategy, issue resolution, and compliance initiatives.
- Manage all contractual obligations, including tracking key terms, deliverables, and milestones, ensuring adherence to approval thresholds and organizational standards.
What we are looking for
- Bachelor of Arts in Law, Paralegal Studies or Business Administration, or Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies required.
- Must have prior contract administration, procurement, or legal operations.
- Keen eye for detail when it comes to contract drafting and risk assessment.
- Strong understanding of compliance and process management
- Familiarity with CLM systems (Contract Lifecycle Management tools)
- Excellent negotiation and presentation skills.
- Must be able to seek and understand data from an array of sources to align to business strategy.
- Must have strong administrative and management skills
- Strong attention to detail.
- Should be well versed in MS Office Suite.
Preferred Skills:
- Juris Doctor (JD) preferred.
- Masters Degree a plus!
