Job Summary:
We are looking for a hands-on Laser Department Team Leader responsible for delivering production targets while maintaining quality standards and operational efficiency. The role combines leadership and machine operation, ensuring smooth day-to-day running of the department.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver daily production targets
Monitor workflow and minimise downtime
Ensure efficient machine utilisation
Operate laser machinery as required
Carry out machine setups and changeovers
Troubleshoot minor issues and escalate where necessary
Lead and support a small team, allocating work and managing priorities
Provide guidance and maintain team performance
Perform in-process quality checks, ensuring adherence to specifications and standards
Identify and address defects quickly
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency
Reduce waste and improve right-first-time performance
Maintain a safe working environment
Ensure compliance with H&S procedures
Uphold good housekeeping (5S)
Skills & Experience
Experience with laser drilling or similar equipment
Previous team leader or supervisor experience
Strong practical and problem-solving skills
Good understanding of quality and production processes
