Job Description

  

Position Overview:

The purpose of this position is to support offshore and onshore installation activities, including performing field‑based termination builds, testing, troubleshooting, and technical services at customer locations worldwide. This role is fully field‑based; however, the company reserves the right to establish a workshop in the United Kingdom in the future. Should a workshop be established, duties may evolve to include limited shop‑based activities as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform installation, termination, testing, and commissioning of field service products at customer sites.

  • Provide feedback to Engineering to support process improvements related to field installation and product performance.

  • Conduct inspection, evaluation, and troubleshooting of customer equipment while deployed or during mobilization/demobilization phases.

  • Support Field Service efforts through effective communication with internal departments and project stakeholders.

  • Work independently with minimal supervision in remote offshore/onshore environments.

  • Approximately 50% of domestic and international travel is required, often on short notice.

  • Represent the company in a professional manner during all field assignments.

  • Provide guidance and assistance to Field Service Technicians I & II as needed.

  • Strong knowledge and hands‑on experience with fiber‑optic splicing and termination in field environments.

  • Independently troubleshoot high‑profile situations offshore and at customer facilities.

  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of offshore operations, including safety protocols, procedures, and customer requirements.

Education and Experience:

  • AS degree or equivalent work experience

  • Experience in a workshop environment

  • Field Service experience essential

  • Electrical and Fiber Optic background preferred

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of MS Word, MS Outlook, and MS Excel is required.

  • Must have the ability to read blueprints, procedures, specifications.

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills are required.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficient in the use of standard electronic test equipment (i.e., multimeter, megohmmeter, temperature measurement).

  • Must be proficient in the use of hand tools.

  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts.
