Internal Sales Representative
Location: Syston
Type: Full-time
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused Internal Sales Representative to join our team. In this role, you will manage a portfolio of customers within a defined geographical region, driving business growth through proactive sales activity and delivering an exceptional customer experience.
You will work closely with the District Sales Manager (DSM) to ensure a joined-up commercial approach, while also supporting wider operational needs, including order management where required.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Management
Proactively generate new business through structured outbound calls and targeted follow-ups.
Manage and grow an existing portfolio of customers, following agreed call plans and objectives.
Build strong relationships with key decision-makers, clearly communicating our value and unique selling points.
Price jobs and enquiries in line with agreed guidelines and volume targets.
Support market analysis activity, including customer segmentation and competitor positioning.
Identify opportunities to add value for customers and support their business success.
Handle cash sale enquiries in line with company pricing policy.
Sales Administration
Respond efficiently to customer enquiries (verbal and written) in a timely manner.
Produce accurate quotations that meet technical requirements and customer expectations.
Maintain accurate records across systems and keep customers informed throughout the process.
Resolve customer issues professionally, escalating where necessary.
Liaise with internal teams regarding orders, pricing, and deliveries.
Process payments for cash sales.
Support team collaboration and contribute to a positive working environment.
Order Management
Support order placement and management when required.
Accurately create, amend, and confirm customer orders within the SAP system.
Ensure all order details are complete, including customer and delivery information.
Work with transport and production teams to agree realistic delivery times.
General
Develop strong knowledge of company products, the industry, and customer markets.
Build effective working relationships with customers, colleagues, and operational teams.
Maintain a high standard of customer service at all times.
Key Performance Indicators
Volume and margin performance for allocated plants
Growth in customer numbers
Increase in value-added products (VAPs)
Cash sale volume and margin
Reduction in customer queries
Number of quotations generated
Quote turnaround time
