Eaton’s IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Sr HR Generalist at our location in Kings Mountain, NC.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $86000 - $126000 a year.  

Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. 

Eaton announced, on June 11, 2026, the intent to combine its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) with a new company.  We expect to complete this process by the end of the first half of 2027.  The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton's plans, programs and practices.  If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the transaction closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.

What you’ll do:

    
The primary responsibility of this position is to assist the HR Manager in the development, implementation, and administration of HR programs and initiatives to support business objectives and maintain positive employee relations. This position facilitates recruitment, employee training and development, compliance activities, compensation, benefits, employee engagement and employee relations. This position will analyze HR metrics to identify trends and recommend solutions to proactively identify opportunities and develop recommendations for improvement both within the HR function as well as the assigned business groups.

 

Essential Functions

  • Engage in proactive employee relations strategies and initiatives; Drive activities to promote engagement with employees at all levels.
  • Support managers and supervisors in the hiring of salaried and hourly employees, including the internal promotion and transfer procedures for hourly employees.  Coordinate recruitment efforts with the Eaton Talent Acquisition Center. Coordinate and facilitate the New Employee Orientation and Onboarding processes.  Monitor employment for contingent personnel through partnership with Randstad. Lead or support full cycle recruitment including job scoping, interviewing, and selection.
  • Oversee onboarding and orientation programs to ensure successful integration of new employees.
    Implement and administer policies and procedures consistent with the plant’s inclusion & diversity initiatives, including driving actions to achieve positive employee engagement goals.
  • Lead outreach efforts by promoting and maintaining relationships with civic and educational institutions.  Assist in the development of the Affirmative Action Plan and related reports/documentation. Facilitate the plant Inclusion & Diversity team, including coordinating activities and leading training sessions.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor local policies and procedures to ensure consistency and fairness among employees. Assist supervisors in applying policies to ensure accountability and high performance.
  • Provide counsel and support to resolve interpersonal conflicts and employee relations issues; investigate and resolve ER claims.
  • Provide proactive coaching and counsel to supervisors, extended staff, and others regarding handling employee concerns and situations; hold regular one-on-one (FLL) meetings with client group leaders; identify and execute actions to improve overall managerial effectiveness in the plant
  • Provide support in the areas of compensation and benefits: salary administration, proposing merit adjustments, developing range recommendations, assisting with wage surveys and communications, and helping employees with benefits questions and escalations.
  • Provide day-to-day directions, coaching, and mentorship to HR Development Program participant.
  • Provide proactive support in establishing a progressive human resources climate that enhances continuous improvement, positive communications, and a teaming environment.
  • Assist on special projects as needed, including support of ongoing Continuous Improvement framework; lead or co-lead employee empowered work team; participate in CI events; participate in safety and operations audits and initiatives.
  • Partner with senior leadership to develop HR strategies aligned with business goals. Drive change management initiatives and organizational development programs.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field.  
  • 2+ years of experience as an HR Generalist or related role in a manufacturing environment.    
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree preferred

Skills:

  • Special knowledge of state and federal laws, regulations and procedures as they relate to recruitment, terminations, AAP/EEO, FLSA, unemployment, Workers’ Compensation, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills: written and verbal, conducting presentations and training, employee counseling, and interpersonal skills.
  • Organizational and leadership skills necessary to facilitate meetings, plan events, etc.
  • Excellent technical HR skills in the areas of recruiting, compensations, benefits, EEO/AAP, employee relations, etc.

  • Servicing an organization that operates 24/7. Must be willing to occasionally work outside of normal work hours
