POSITION PROFILE :

The Housekeeping Inspector is responsible for ensuring all guest rooms and public areas meet the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and brand compliance. This role plays a critical part in delivering exceptional guest experience by inspecting rooms after they are cleaned, identifying deficiencies, and supporting the housekeeping team in maintaining quality and efficiency.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Inspect guest rooms, suites, and public areas to ensure cleanliness and adherence to brand and company standards
  • Verify room readiness for guest arrival, including proper setup, amenities, and functionality
  • Identify and report maintenance issues promptly through proper channels
  • Provide immediate feedback and coaching to Room Attendants to improve performance and consistency
  • Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures
  • Assist in training new housekeeping team members on cleaning standards and inspection processes
  • Open and close housekeeping in the absence of Housekeeping Leadership
  • Monitor inventory levels of linens, amenities, and supplies within inspected areas
  • Maintain accurate inspection reports and communicate room status updates to the front desk and leadership team
  • Support daily housekeeping operations, including assisting with cleaning rooms when necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Previous housekeeping experience required; supervisory or inspector experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness
  • Knowledge of hotel brand standards and cleaning procedures
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills
  • Basic computer skills or familiarity with hotel management systems preferred
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25-50 lbs as needed

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs
  • Be able to push and pull carts
  • Good vision for detailed inspection
  • Manual dexterity for handling equipment and machinery in a hot, humid, and noisy environment where chemicals are.
