Job Description

Looking for a hands-on internship where you learn how a hotel really runs behind the scenes? Our Housekeeping Supervisor internship might be exactly what you're looking for! We’re searching for a full-time intern at our ID Aparthotel in Amsterdam.

It started with Amsterdam ID Aparthotel

It all began in Sloterdijk, when our founders transformed an office building into our first apartment-hotel. Since then, we've welcomed over 100,000 guests from more than 40 countries. Some stay for months, others just for a weekend — but for all of them, we create a place that feels like home.

That warm feeling is at the core of everything we do. Not just for our guests, but for our teams too. And behind that experience? A strong housekeeping team that makes it all happen.

The internship

As a Housekeeping Supervisor Intern, you are right in the middle of the operation. This is not a “watch and learn” internship — you will actively support the daily coordination of the housekeeping department.

Your day starts with a morning briefing together with the housekeeping manager and supervisors. You’ll review priorities: arrivals, departures, long-stay guests, and any special requests. Together, you make sure the right people are in the right place.

During the day, you’re on the floor. You check rooms, support the team, and help solve operational challenges. A room not ready on time? A guest request that needs immediate action? You step in and make it happen.

You’ll also work closely with external staff and supervisors. This means learning how to communicate clearly, give feedback, and ensure everyone works according to our standards.

At the same time, you’ll develop a strong eye for detail. You’ll learn what “hotel-ready” really means — not just clean, but consistent, efficient, and guest-focused.

What you will learn

This internship is about building real operational strength. You will gain experience in:

  • Supporting daily housekeeping operations (rooms & public areas)

  • Performing room checks and quality control

  • Coordinating with internal and external teams

  • Handling guest requests and operational challenges

  • Reporting maintenance issues via systems like Flexkeeping

  • Understanding planning, staffing, and efficiency

  • Contributing to training and onboarding of team members

  • Maintaining overview during busy operational moments

Your role in the team

You support the housekeeping supervisor and manager in making sure:

  • Rooms are cleaned and ready on time

  • Public areas meet our standards throughout the day

  • Communication between departments runs smoothly

  • The team stays motivated and well-informed

You are not expected to lead the department yet — but you are expected to step up, take initiative, and grow into that role.
