Job Description
Registered Nurse - Postpartum in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This travel assignment starts on 07/14/2026 and runs for 13 weeks in a hospital setting. Weekly pay ranges from $2,506 to $2,719 per week, with 36 guaranteed hours per week. Shift is 12-hour nights on a 2x3 schedule (7:00 pm–7:00 am).

Responsibilities
- Provide direct postpartum nursing care to mothers and newborns, monitor vitals, assess recovery, and identify potential complications such as postpartum hemorrhage.
- Administer prescribed medications and therapies (including IV antibiotics, IV magnesium intermittently, PRBC transfusions, rhogam, lovenox) and monitor for adverse effects.
- Support breastfeeding and newborn care; assist with lactation and infant feeding; monitor newborn status and safety equipment; document care accurately.
- Document in the electronic medical record (EPIC) and communicate with the obstetric team, neonatal staff, and unit leadership to support coordinated care.
- Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, newborn care, signs of concern, and discharge planning; adhere to infection prevention and safety protocols.
- Work within the unit’s schedule requirements: no mandatory floating; on-call coverage is voluntary for vacant shifts; complete required weekend and holiday rotations as assigned.
Requirements
- Active Massachusetts RN license (NURSYS verification with current or conditional status pulled within the last 7 days)
- Current BLS and NRP certifications; lactation certification preferred
- 1+ year of Postpartum experience; travel experience preferred; first-time travelers accepted
- Ability to work night shifts (7:00 pm–7:00 am) and to fulfill every other weekend and every other major holiday as per unit policy
- Education: graduation from an accredited nursing program
- EPIC EMR experience preferred
- Flu vaccine required during seasonal period
- RTO must be included at time of submission; RTO requests are not guaranteed after confirmation
- Local candidates within 50 miles eligible for a local rate (local rate is $8 less than posted)
