
Infrastructure Network Analyst
Job Description
The City of Thousand Oaks is seeking an experienced Infrastructure Network Analyst to support enterprise infrastructure, connectivity, telecommunications, cybersecurity, and modernization initiatives across the organization.
This position plays a key role in maintaining secure, reliable, and scalable infrastructure environments that support City operations, public services, remote connectivity, cloud technologies, wireless systems, telecommunications, and business continuity efforts. The Infrastructure Network Analyst will serve as a technical resource for the implementation, maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization of enterprise infrastructure systems.
Position Highlights
The Infrastructure Network Analyst will:
- Implement, maintain, monitor, troubleshoot, and support enterprise infrastructure environments, including LAN, WAN, wireless, VPN, SD-WAN, cloud connectivity, and telecommunications systems.
- Configure and support routers, switches, firewalls, wireless technologies, VPN technologies, network appliances, and related infrastructure components.
- Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, utilization, and operational health.
- Analyze and resolve connectivity issues, outages, latency concerns, wireless performance issues, and service disruptions.
- Support cybersecurity initiatives, including network security technologies, segmentation strategies, access controls, intrusion prevention systems, and secure connectivity solutions.
- Assist with infrastructure modernization, disaster recovery, redundancy, business continuity, and operational resiliency initiatives.
- Collaborate with infrastructure staff, enterprise technology teams, cybersecurity personnel, vendors, consultants, and operational stakeholders.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, infrastructure diagrams, standards, configurations, and operational procedures.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be a collaborative, customer-service-oriented technical professional with strong experience supporting enterprise infrastructure and network environments. The successful candidate will be skilled in troubleshooting, problem-solving, technical documentation, and working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of:
- Enterprise infrastructure, networking, telecommunications, and infrastructure support practices
- LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, SD-WAN, routing, switching, wireless networking, segmentation, cloud connectivity, and telecommunications systems
- Routers, switches, firewalls, wireless technologies, VPN technologies, network appliances, and related platforms
- Infrastructure monitoring, troubleshooting, disaster recovery, business continuity, and resiliency concepts
- Cybersecurity principles, secure remote connectivity, firewall technologies, access controls, intrusion prevention systems, and infrastructure segmentation
- Cloud technologies, hybrid infrastructure environments, and enterprise connectivity solutions
- Infrastructure documentation, diagrams, standards, configurations, testing methodologies, and operational procedures
Minimum Qualifications
Any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge and abilities may qualify.
Education:
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Computer Science, Information Systems, Network Engineering, Telecommunications, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
Three years of progressively responsible professional experience related to enterprise infrastructure support, networking, telecommunications, wireless technologies, cybersecurity, cloud connectivity, or related infrastructure technology functions.
Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments, wireless technologies, cloud connectivity, cybersecurity technologies, disaster recovery initiatives, and infrastructure modernization efforts is highly desirable.
Licenses and Certifications
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California Class C Driver’s License may be required depending on assignment.
Relevant professional certifications may be desirable depending on assignment.
