The Salvation Army (Salvos) is one of Australia’s largest providers of alcohol and other drug (AOD) programs including withdrawal management, residential and non-residential rehabilitation, and harm reduction programs. Salvos services go beyond addressing the core issues and challenges associated with problematic substance abuse and provide participants a place of hope, compassion, and dignity to recover safely.

🕒 Shifts Available (7‑day roster)

  • Day Shift (Mon–Fri): 6:30am–2:45pm / 10:00am–6:15pm
  • Day Shift (Sat–Sun): 6:30am–2:45pm
  • Afternoon Shift: 12:15pm–10:30pm
  • Night Shift: 10:15pm–6:45am

Classification: QLD Nurses EBA

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing assessments, clinical support, and evidence‑based withdrawal treatment aligned with QLD AOD Guidelines
  • Provide specialised detox care, monitoring participants closely and responding proactively to changes in physical or mental health
  • Work collaboratively with visiting medical officers, ensuring smooth communication and continuity of care
  • Administer and monitor medication regimes to safely manage withdrawal symptoms
  • Lead and coordinate admissions, discharges, and clinical documentation, ensuring accuracy and professionalism
  • Conduct ongoing clinical reviews, monitor progress, and escalate concerns appropriately
  • Support participants using trauma‑informed, compassionate, person‑centred practice
  • Maintain high standards of infection control, risk management, and clinical safety across all shifts

 What You’ll Bring

  • Tertiary nursing qualification
  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in AOD or mental health nursing
  • Strong clinical assessment, triage, and decision‑making skills
  • Knowledge of QLD withdrawal management guidelines
  • Competence in infection control procedures
  • Current QLD driver’s licence
