Who we’re looking for

Toyota’s Corporate Communications Department is looking for a passionate, highly motivated Corporate Communications Analyst.

The primary responsibility of this role is to support Toyota Battery Manufacturing North Carolina’s (Toyota North Carolina) external affairs/communications, media relations, community relations, local government relations, executive support, and sustainable development activities that promote Toyota North Carolina as a good corporate citizen and an employer of choice.

Reporting to the Corporate Communications Battery Plant & TRD Manager, the person in this role will support the department's objectives of promoting Toyota’s reputation as a modern and agile manufacturing leader and a positive influence in the community and state and strengthening relationships with existing stakeholders through strategic communication and public relations.

What you’ll be doing

  • Developing communication plans, press releases, feature stories, executive remarks, scripts, etc.

  • Supporting external activities, relationships, and events

  • Analyzing and making recommendations for the philanthropic budget, partnerships, and volunteer events, including support for the Driving Possibilities initiative

  • Working across internal administrative and manufacturing departments to develop and carry out communications and media activities

  • Supporting crisis communications needs

  • Facilitating media and speaking requests and events

  • Assisting with developing and executing strategies that build and maintain local and regional stakeholder relationships, including supporting plant leadership’s engagement in these activities

  • Collaborating with Internal Communications to ensure consistent messaging

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a closely related field

  • 2+ years of public relations experience, including creating communication plans, press releases, story development, executive speeches, briefing documents, presentations, events, etc.

  • Previously demonstrated excellence with written and verbal communication and presentation skills

  • Large-scale event planning and execution experience

  • Previous experience managing projects

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time

  • Ability and willingness to occasionally work after hours and weekends for events

Added bonus if you have

  • Advanced degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a closely related field

  • Automotive or manufacturing industry experience

  • Experience developing integrated communications plans/strategies

  • Experience working with/at a public relations or marketing agency

  • Community relations management
