Senior Operations Engineer

Compensation: $140,000 - $175,000 / year
Description
Responsibilities
- Develop and own factory layouts for new and existing facilities, helping bring together competing requirements into a harmonious workflow, while considering material movement, build process flows, lifting and rigging solutions, and facilities requirements
- Develop data-collection and visualization tools for the manufacturing teams. Define and measure key metrics and KPI’s across the teams to improve efficiency and quality
- Deploy Lean/5S/Kaizen principles to eliminate waste and streamline workflows
- Perform time studies, define inefficiencies, suggest and implement improvements
- Develop and own personnel-development tools such as skills matrices
- Develop training materials for employees and managers to address safety, tribal knowledge, quality, and productivity
- Leverage MRP and ERP systems, and enterprise system teams, to make system enhancements
- Optimize and accelerate existing manufacturing processes
- Work with production teams to identify key bottlenecks and pain points, and take initiative to address those bottlenecks
- Support manufacturing capital projects, including new facility activations, automation efforts and new capability development
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, or related field
- Demonstrate experience in developing and improving manufacturing and operations processes
- Experience working in a software development environment
- 5+ years of demonstrated operations experience
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Masters' degree in an engineering discipline
- 10+ years' of demonstrated operations experience within aerospace or related industry working with metallics structures
- Previous experience working within a start-up
- 7+ years' of demonstrated experience with manufacturing automation (welding, machining, etc.)
Compensation bands are determined by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. Individual level and base pay is determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities and internal equity. In addition to base salary, for full-time hires, you may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of stock options, and access to medical, vision & dental coverage as well as access to a 401(k) retirement plan.
