Job Description
The Adobe Target Specialist/Consultant will own and govern the platform, ensuring secure environments, activity setup, and seamless delivery of personalized experiences. This role requires delivering high-quality activities that drive measurable business impact and drives advanced integrations with Adobe Experience Cloud tools, manages AEM fragment application, and enables AI-powered personalization features.
Position Responsibilities:
Platform Ownership & Activity Management:
- Own environments, properties, and permissions (prod/stage/dev), including Admin/API governance for users, hosts, properties, and activities to keep the platform secure and audit‑ready
- Translate the brief into an activity spec: define hypothesis, primary/secondary KPIs, target audience, activity type (A/B, MVT, Experience Targeting, Auto‑Target/Auto‑Allocate, Recommendations)
- Work with development/digital technology team to configure experiences in VEC/Form‑based Composer (web) or via Delivery APIs/Server‑side SDKs
- Validate identity and decision logs, use preview/QA links across hosts/environments, test devices/browsers, and confirm flicker/performance mitigations; set start/end flighting and activation gates
- Publish activities to the correct environment/property, monitor early signals in A4T reports, run smoke checks, and apply rollback criteria if needed. Post‑activation, document results and learnings; archive assets and update the activity registry to avoid future collisions
Strategic Integrations & Advanced Personalization:
- Integrate Target with Adobe MarTech stack (Adobe Analytics, RTCDP, Journey Optimizer, CJA)
- Set up and configure secure connection between Adobe Experience Manager and Adobe Target using OAuth authentication, ensuring seamless transfer of experience fragments (XFs) for content personalization
- Instrument end‑to‑end measurement (activity → audience → event → report) and ensure clean experiment attribution in Analytics/BI
- Offer & template patterns: maintain reusable HTML/JSON offers, components, and design tokens compatible with VEC/Form‑based Composer and server delivery
- Profile scripts & attributes: curate calculated attributes and entity data powering audiences, Recommendations, and automated decisioning - versioned and unit‑tested
- Enable advanced AI powered features (Auto‑Target, Automated Personalization, Recommendations) with the necessary data feeds, catalogs, and guardrails; document when/why to use each
- Manage and maintain AEM Experience Fragments within Adobe Target, ensuring accurate application of fragments for content personalization and experimentation use cases across web and app experiences
- Steward tag/SDK health (AEP Web SDK / at.js): load order, flicker mitigation, and server connections—so experience delivery is performant and stable
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of practical experience with Adobe Target or similar personalization platforms (e.g., Optimizely, VWO, Dynamic Yield).
- Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript and website debug skills
- Proven ability to design, execute, and analyze A/B and multivariate tests at scale
- Working knowledge of Adobe Experience Cloud solutions such as AEM, Adobe Analytics, Customer Journey Analytics, and Launch (or comparable platforms).
- Strong understanding of activating RT-CDP audiences in Adobe Target, including segment publishing, identity stitching, and real-time qualification
- Familiarity with Adobe Target profile scripts, MBOX architecture, and customer attributes for audience targeting and personalization.
- Experience managing Experience Fragments and integrating AEM with Adobe Target.
Preferred Qualifications:
Adobe Target Business Practitioner or Developer certification preferred
