The Opportunity
Our Information Services (IS) team is looking for a proactive and outgoing Manager, IT Financial Management, to support part of our IS Project portfolio on an ongoing basis.
The Manager, IT Financial Management is accountable for leading the planning, forecasting, reporting, governance, and optimization of Information Services operating expenditures and technology-related investments. This role provides leadership to a team of financial analysts and specialists responsible for managing significant enterprise spend across multiple disciplines.
The position develops and implements financial governance processes, performance reporting, forecasting methodologies, cost optimization strategies, and executive decision-support capabilities that enable effective management of Information Services financial performance.
What you'll do
Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management for the IT Financial Management team
Establish team priorities, performance expectations, and development plans
Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, collaboration, and operational excellence
Develop succession and workforce plans to support future business needs
Lead annual business planning, budgeting, and official forecasting financial processes
Monitor financial performance and provide recommendations regarding risks, opportunities, and corrective actions
Drive forecast accuracy and financial transparency across Information Services
Identify and implement cost optimization opportunities
Oversee financial governance of external service providers and technology vendors
Monitor contractual commitments, spend performance, financial risks, and vendor-related financial obligations
Support sourcing activities, renewals, business cases, and financial evaluations
Ensure adherence to procurement and financial governance requirements
Lead financial governance of enterprise telecom services
Oversee billing validation, inventory governance, chargeback processes, and cost management activities
Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and reduce telecommunications costs
Lead cloud financial management and FinOps practices
Monitor cloud consumption, forecasting, budgeting, and optimization initiatives
Oversee software asset management practices, licensing compliance, and optimization opportunities
Partner with technology teams to improve financial accountability and cost efficiency
Develop and maintain executive reporting, dashboards, and key performance indicators
Ensure compliance with corporate financial policies and governance standards
Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to leadership teams
Minimum Qualifications
University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Information Systems, or related discipline
Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in financial management, accounting, financial planning and analysis, IT financial management, telecommunications financial management, cloud financial management, procurement, or related disciplines
Minimum 5 years of leadership experience managing professional teams
Preferred Qualifications
CPA designation strongly preferred
MBA considered an asset
FinOps certification considered an asset
Experience managing large operational budgets and complex financial portfolios
Experience providing financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership teams
Experience with SAP and enterprise financial systems
Experience within technology, digital, telecommunications, or large corporate environments
Experience leading organizational change and continuous improvement initiatives
