Job Description
TITLE: High School Station Attendant
REPORTS TO: Director of School Nutrition and Site Coordinator. Specific job tasks assigned by Site Lead.
JOB SUMMARY: To serve the students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness and warmth. Operate assigned station to achieve the standards communicated by the Director and Site Coordinator, and support the Site Lead in achieving the overall program's standards and goals.
REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in Food Service including quantity and batch cooking preferred.
- Must be physically capable of performing duties that include the ability to walk, bend, and stand for long periods of time.
- Lift and carry objects weighing up to forty (40) pounds.
- The ability to work with a variety of food service and cleaning related products.
- Ability to learn and work with Point-of-Sale software.
- Serv Safe Food Handler Certification required within 90 days of hire. Training and Certification course will be provided as needed.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
The High School Station Attendant is responsible for operating their assigned station to meet or exceed the standards communicated by the Director and Site Coordinator. Station Attendants are expected to display a sense of ownership and pride in their assigned station. Responsibilities include:
- Provide Customer Service in an efficient and pleasant manner.
- Take primary responsibility for preparing all menu items for the assigned station, with assistance from Worker/Cashiers as assigned by the Site Lead.
- Replenish all foods, condiments, etc. for assigned station in between service periods, and keep the station clean and uncluttered during all service periods.
- Follow guidance on food presentation and quality from the Director and Site Coordinator, and ensure the station and all menu items meet the standards communicated by the Director and Site Coordinator.
- Ensure that all marketing materials are neat, clean, and properly presented.
- Follow NSLP and SBP meal component and portion guidelines.
- Take primary responsibility for properly storing all leftover food items at the end of service, and completely cleaning assigned station.
- Assist with cleaning and sanitizing of kitchen area, dish room area, cafeteria, and all equipment to the standards provided by the Director and the Site Coordinator, as assigned by the Site Lead.
- Properly complete all production records, HACCP logs, and/or any other reporting for your assigned station as assigned by the Site Lead.
- Proficiency in use and safe operation and cleaning of all kitchen equipment.
- May be expected to perform other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: School Year
2026-2027 HOURLY SALARY: Starting at $17.31 or more depending on experience
HOURS/DAY: 6.5 hrs 7:00 AM to 1:30 PM
EVALUATION: The Director of School Nutrition will evaluate performance no less than annually.
