Job Description

Job Purpose

 

The ideal Trainer Assessor provides expert technical training, coaching, and competency assessment within the OTR tyre industry, ensuring personnel are equipped with the skills and knowledge required to perform their duties safely and effectively. They build strong relationships with site teams and client stakeholders, fostering a culture of continuous learning, compliance, and operational excellence. Resourceful and adaptable, they play a critical role in developing workforce capability, maintaining training standards, and supporting safe, efficient, and high-quality tyre management operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver technical, vocational, safety, and induction training programmes to employees and clients.
  • Plan, prepare, and coordinate training resources to support effective learning outcomes.
  • Conduct training needs analyses and develop training plans to address competency gaps.
  • Perform vocational assessments to evaluate and verify employee and client competence.
  • Assist in the development, review, validation, and maintenance of training materials and assessment tools.
  • Monitor training progress, maintain training matrices, and ensure timely completion of required training.
  • Prepare and submit training plans, site reports, timesheets, and training records in line with company requirements.
  • Conduct site audits, compliance reviews, and gap analyses, reporting any non-conformances or safety concerns.
  • Provide technical and operational support to site management teams while maintaining regular communication with trainees and stakeholders.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by complying with Occupational Health and Safety requirements and supporting continuous workforce development.

 

 

Qualifications & Experience Required

 

Education, Master, other certification:

  • Grade 12 National Senior Certificate
  • A valid drivers license
  • Minimum 4 years in Off the Road Tyre Services industry.
  • Certificate in Facilitation
  • Certificate in Conducting Outcome Based Assessments (SAQA 115753)
  • Qualification in ODETDP (Advantageous)

 

Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate diverse teams.
  • Sound understanding of the working mechanism of the tools or the machinery they are handling.
  • Good supervisory skills and ability to pay attention to the details.
  • Strong understanding of mining safety regulations.
  • Strong Microsoft and report writing Skills.
