The selected colleague will work at an MUFG office or client sites four days per week and work remotely one day. A member of our recruitment team will provide more details.

The Payments Analyst is responsible for the workflow of the Telecommunications section, which oversees the operation of the wire-room portion of the SAMH system. The emphasis is geared towards maintaining a high level of service quality along with ensuring sound and safe business practices and satisfactorily fulfills their daily customer and/or process requirements (Day starts at 9:00 AM and ends at 7:00 PM). In this capacity, the incumbent is expected to demonstrate the required skills to effectively prioritize work. The incumbent also provides technical support to other departments and branches. Identify and resolve productivity, efficiency, and quality issues that hinder operations.

Experience

  • Fundamental understanding of payments formatting, including SWIFT, CHIPS, Fed wire, foreign currency principles.
  • Able to utilize internal & external resources required for the timely resolution of assigned cases.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate records, facilitating management review.
  • Good oral and written communications skills;
  • Strong practical understanding of payment systems (preferably SAMH).
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in Telecommunications, testing and SWIFT message processing.

Workflow Management

  • Provide cross-training as necessary to the Wireroom staff to ensure that proper coverage is available
  • Rout incoming messages electronically to user departments and branches, ensuring messages are received within prescribed timeframe.
  • Copy and paste incoming messages and distribute to intended areas via email
  • Review and resolve undelivered/rejected (General Exception outgoing) messages
  • Maintain and resolve any pending items (3rd party test, garbled messages, etc.)
  • Copy and paste outgoing messages and distribute to intended areas via email

Customer Support

  • Secondary contact person for other departments and branches with queries related to message processing issues, which include but are not limited to: (a) Message formatting, (b) Swift     messages inquiries, (c) Currency codes
  • Distribution of SWIFT broadcast messages
  • Retrieval, Distribution, filing and sending out MT 199 of authorized signatures

Quality Control

  • Request to Tokyo establishment of SWIFT Relationship Management Agreement’s (RMA).
  • Support Head Office initiative in the cleanup of the dormant RMAs. Advise PDA of all cancelled RMAs monthly 

Secondary Reporting (if manager absent)

  • Review daily checklist report completed prior to submitted to management for review
  • Prepare monthly reports within prescribed time frame

Message Processing

  • Prepare and type (COME) outgoing messages for dispatch in the SAMH system on behalf of other departments as well as the Wireroom.
  • Verify outgoing messages (COMV) awaiting release

Manual Fax Payment Applications

  • Log in all incoming fax US dollar payment applications on fax log and Faxwire ensuring all information provided is accurate.
  • Ensure proper set-up of fax log every month.   

Risk Control

  • Ensure proper and timely escalation on reportable incidence is understood by staff and carried out consistently.

Education

  • High School, (College preferred) and technical training in telecommunications.

The typical base pay range for this role is between $61K - $77K depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonuses and/or incentive compensation.
