Job Description:
Director, Enterprise Transformation Office
Service Configuration and Productivity
18-Month Contract | Scarborough Health Network
We are recruiting for a Director, Service Configuration and Productivity to join our Enterprise Transformation Office (ETO) on an 18-month contract, backfilling a parental leave.
Scarborough Health Network (SHN) is one of Ontario’s largest community hospital networks, serving a diverse population across three campuses. In response to a constrained provincial funding environment, SHN established the ETO to drive structural, sustainable change — protecting quality and patient safety while meeting our fiscal obligations.
The Director leads the Service Configuration and Productivity ETO workstream, reporting to the Vice President, Strategy and Transformation and working alongside the ETO Steering Committee.
Why Join SHN’s Enterprise Transformation Office
This is a high-profile role at the centre of one of Ontario’s most consequential community hospital transformation agendas. You will work alongside senior leaders on initiatives that directly shape how SHN delivers care to one of Canada’s most diverse communities — with strong executive sponsorship, a dedicated team, and real opportunity for impact.
Here’s What You’ll Get To Do
Lead the Service Configuration and Productivity workstream, overseeing the implementation of active initiatives including:
- Virtual Hospital Strategy
- Surgical Services Optimization
- Centralized Patient Scheduling Optimization
- Standardized Integrated Support Services Model
- Virtual Care Strategy (including but not limited to enterprise-wide Remote Patient Monitoring program, hospital at home, etc.)
- Corporate Integrated Services Strategy
You will develop and manage implementation plans, facilitate cross-functional initiative teams, track financial targets in partnership with Core Finance, and present progress to senior governance including the ETO Steering Committee and board. You will also identify emerging opportunities and mentor Transformation Implementation leads within your workstream.
Here’s What You’ll Need
Education & Experience
- Graduate degree in Health Administration, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Clinical background preferred (or equivalent experience)
- 7–10 years of progressive experience in healthcare management, strategy, or transformation.
- Direct experience in a hospital or health system setting is required.
- Experience in service redesign, capacity optimization, or alternative service delivery is highly valued.
- Familiarity with Epic and/or Remote Patient Monitoring programs is an asset.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and financial acumen, with the ability to develop executive-level business proposals and manage initiative-level P&Ls and performance dashboards.
- Excellent facilitation, stakeholder engagement, and executive communication skills.
- Proven project management and time management discipline with the ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives.
- Change management experience with a collaborative and strategic mindset to support clinical and operational teams through transformation.
- Knowledge of Ontario hospital funding and the broader provincial health system context.
- Deep understanding of quality improvement and patient safety principles and how it impacts the transformation initiatives
- Demonstrated experience with successful implementation and sustainment of large-scale, enterprise-wide projects (e.g. within budget, on time, and within scope)
- Ability to develop strong relationships across cross-functional leadership, clinical, and operational teams while incorporating and sharing feedback effectively
- Current on healthcare industry and industry-adjacent trends, peer organization activities, and emerging opportunities
- Proficiency in innovative idea generation, problem identification, fact-finding, strategic planning, guiding the design of emerging initiatives, and ensuring thorough execution of projects
This opportunity is posted to support the recruitment of an existing vacant position.
