Fleet Technician (Dodge / Chevrolet Experience Preferred)
Location: Cable Dahmer Automotive Group Fleet Center - 13500 Holmes Rd, Kansas City, MO 64145
Position Overview:
Cable Dahmer Automotive Group is seeking a skilled and dependable Fleet Technician to join our service team. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of fleet and commercial vehicles, with a strong preference for candidates experienced with Dodge/RAM and Chevrolet platforms.
The ideal candidate is a well-rounded technician who can work efficiently in a fast-paced dealership environment, deliver high-quality repairs the first time, and support our growing fleet and commercial service needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform diagnostic, maintenance, and repair work on fleet vehicles (domestic emphasis: Dodge/RAM, Chevrolet, GMC)
Complete engine, transmission, suspension, electrical, and brake system repairs
Conduct multi-point inspections and document findings accurately
Perform DOT inspections (if certified or willing to obtain)
Work collaboratively with service advisors and fleet coordinators to ensure timely turnaround
Maintain accurate repair orders and documentation in the dealership system
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
Stay current on manufacturer technical bulletins and training
Required Qualifications:
2+ years of automotive technician experience (dealership or fleet environment preferred)
Hands-on experience with Dodge/RAM and/or Chevrolet vehicles strongly preferred
Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
Ability to use scan tools and modern diagnostic equipment
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Ability to work full-time, including occasional overtime based on workload
Preferred Qualifications:
ASE certifications (or willingness to obtain)
GM or Stellantis training/certifications
Diesel experience (light-duty or medium-duty fleet)
DOT inspection certification
Prior fleet maintenance experience
Experience working in high-volume dealership service departments
