DUAL REPORT

Job Purpose

Responsible for supporting and adding value to the tendering process from technical and commercial perspective of the completions Product Lines within the MBP (Malaysia, Brunei & Philippine) Area. Preparation of technical and commercial proposals. Working closely with all stakeholders (including but not limited to Technical Sales Team, Operation Team, SME, QHSE, Finance, Legal), the Application Engineer (“App.Eng”) provides the required support to ensure that all tenders and proposals are submitted in compliance with both Weatherford and Customer’s requirements. Under the guidance of the Operations Manager-Completions, but also through self-driven initiatives, the App. Eng adds value to the existing Tenders by identifying, controlling and mitigating risks, maximizing opportunities and ensuring process compliance. The App. Eng will also be responsible for collecting tender information (win/loss analysis, market prices, competition positionings, etc)

OPERATIONS 

  • Adhere to Safety procedure and policies in accordance with safety management system. Including:
    • Active participation and contribution to specific safety initiatives in meetings.
    • Observe and responds correctly and immediately to safety violations, hazards, and safety drills.
    • Reports and documents immediately any personal exposure to hazardous and unsafe acts/ conditions.
    • Actively promote positive safety culture.
  • Adhere to Quality procedure and policies in accordance with the ISO9002 (where applicable) quality assurance system. Including:
    • Compliance to work instructions.
    • Raising corrective actions for all non-conformances.
    • identifying areas requiring improvement and / or audit
  • Assist the Technical Sales Representative with the preparation of technical proposals and solutions for customer applications as part of the tendering process. This is to include, but not limited to:
    • The preparation of lay-out drawings
    • Completing Tubing Movement Analysis
    • Research and collation of equipment technical data
    • Technical Data Sheet creation
  • Assist in the process of raising the traveller/ cost price request from Manufacturing quotation team as well as third party vendor for tender costing price purposes
  • Assist in preparing the draft BSA (commercial proposal) in conjunction with the commercial/pricing strategy driven by the Technical Sales person.
  • Supporting Technical sales person during the BSA presentation. (BSA Presentation to be delivered by the Technical Sales person).
  • Coordinating with the SME on the equipment and or technology selections as well as on getting competitive cost price from Manufacturing quotation team and 3rd party vendor for major tender(s).
  • Coordinating with each country Operation Team to ensure the final tender document consolidated properly and in a timely manner.
  • Post tender responsibilities - Responsible for collecting tender information (win/loss analysis, market prices, competition positionings, etc)

  • Maintains effective communications with all key stakeholders both internal and where appropriate external
  • Supervisors & Managers should clearly communicate expectations, roles and responsibilities to their reports

 

FINANCIAL 

  • All employees have an accountability to the organisation to be financially responsible whether they are in charge of a function budget or simply their own expenses
  • Costs incurred should be within approved budget, processed within agreed time frames & following the relevant financial policy and procedure

Experience & Education

REQUIRED 

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineer/Petroleum Engineer.
  • Experienced of relevant oilfield experience i.e. Open and Cased Hole Completions (min 5 years’ experience).
  • Technical background in Open and Cased hole Completions.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

 

REQUIRED 

  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of relevant computer software.
  • Ability to read and understand Engineering drawings and procedures.
  • Good understanding of tendering process in Oil & Gas industry.
  • General understanding of finance and accounting pricnciples.
  • Ability to communicate with people at all levels.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Flexible and adaptable to a changing environment.

PREFERRED

  • Strong skills in Microsoft Word for Windows, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Strong skills in Salesforce and Xait Porter
  • Good analytical and organizational skills

Travel Requirement:

This role may require domestic and potentially international travel of up to: <10%
