Job Description:

Commercial/Contract Lead

Abu Dhabi, UAE

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Commercial/Contracts Lead to join our team! In this role you will lead the commercial and contractual management of major infrastructure projects, ensuring effective commercial governance, procurement, contract administration, cost control and commercial risk management throughout the project lifecycle.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Lead the commercial and contractual management of major infrastructure projects from procurement through to project close-out.

  • Establish and maintain commercial governance, controls and contract administration processes.

  • Manage procurement activities, including the preparation of tender documentation, contract documentation, Bills of Quantities, tender evaluations, contract negotiations and contract award recommendations.

  • Support the development, review and commercial assurance of project cost estimates to achieve AACE Class 3 cost estimate accuracy, and develop project cost structures while monitoring budgets, cost forecasts and commercial performance.

  • Manage variations, claims, payment applications and final accounts in accordance with contractual requirements.

  • Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities, and prepare commercial reports, forecasts and recommendations to support informed decision-making.

  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with clients, contractors, consultants and multidisciplinary project teams.

  • Lead, mentor and develop commercial team members while promoting best practice commercial management.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Minimum 15+ years of commercial and contract management experience delivering major infrastructure projects.

  • Experience delivering large-scale infrastructure or utility projects and programmes, preferably within the water and wastewater sectors and for utility clients such as TAQA-WS or similar organisations.

  • Demonstrated experience in procurement, contract administration, cost management, payment certification, change management and claims management on major infrastructure projects.

  • Strong working knowledge and practical application of FIDIC and other standard forms of contract.

  • Excellent commercial judgement, negotiation, analytical, communication, stakeholder management and report writing skills.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and spoken.


What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Professional membership such as MRICS, MCIArb or equivalent.

  • Experience working within a Programme Management Consultant (PMC), engineering consultancy or client organisation.

  • Experience delivering large-scale infrastructure or utility projects and programmes.

  • Experience working in the UAE or wider GCC region.
