What We're Looking For:
This role is for a senior engineering professional who will be a key member of our APAC Professional Services Delivery team. The successful candidate will translate complex customer business requirements into specific, cutting-edge RFID solutions. This involves designing and integrating hardware, applications, and processes for our enterprise clients. You will work closely with our senior engineering team on high-profile, strategic RFID deployments across various industries, ensuring that all project objectives are met with the highest standards of quality, reliability, and innovation.This position demands strong interpersonal capabilities alongside technical expertise. You will lead requirements workshops, present architectural solutions to customers and internal stakeholders, and support pre-sales engagements—clear and confident communication is essential. Translates the client’s business requirements into specific systems, applications or process designs for complex IT solutions and integrating architecture. Ensures all work objectives have been met. Determines and develops approach to complex client solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of complex, end-to-end RFID solutions, from discovery and design through to production and support.
- Conduct on-site and remote discovery sessions to gather and analyze customer requirements for enterprise RFID applications, such as asset tracking, inventory management, and workflow automation.
- Develop detailed solution architecture, including physical layouts (e.g., fixed readers, antenna placement) and logical designs (data flow, security) for stakeholder approval.
- Configure, optimize, and troubleshoot enterprise hardware, including RFID readers, mobile computers, and associated edge networking equipment.
- Develop and document software scripts, algorithms, and data processing logic to optimize RFID read performance, spatial location, and accuracy in challenging RF environments.
- Collaborate with third-party vendors and integration partners to ensure seamless interoperability with broader enterprise systems.
- Create comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, deployment procedures, and customer-facing support guides.
- Provide Level 3 engineering support for deployed solutions, including troubleshooting complex issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and support personnel, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
Required:
- Extensive RFID Expertise: Deep understanding of UHF RFID technology, including reader and antenna configuration, RF physics, and tag performance characteristics.
- Systems Integration: Proven experience in designing and deploying complex IT solutions, seamlessly integrating hardware, software, and networking components.
- Software Development: Proficiency in scripting and software development, particularly for data filtering, processing algorithms, and creating proof-of-concept solutions.
- Hardware Knowledge: Hands-on experience with enterprise-grade RFID infrastructure, mobile edge computing, and related peripherals.
- Technical Documentation: Ability to produce high-quality technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design specifications, and operational guides.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in mission-critical environments.
- Customer-Facing Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to lead technical discussions confidently with both internal stakeholders and external clients.
Preferred:
- Experience deploying advanced RFID solutions in complex operational environments (e.g., logistics, manufacturing, warehousing, or transportation).
- Strong knowledge of enterprise networking concepts, including Wi-Fi optimization and remote system access.
- Familiarity with industry-standard RFID SDKs, APIs, and middleware platforms.
- Experience leading Proof-of-Concept (POC) projects and successfully transitioning them to scalable, production-grade solutions.
- CWNE or other relevant advanced technical/industry certifications.
